Taker has been on Smackdown for several years. I think if he wanted to be on Raw, he's got enough pull backstage that he can make it happen.
The guy is 44 years old. For a big man, that might as well be 70. Big wrestlers age in dog years. He's either trying to extend his career or nearing the end of it and is slowing down his schedule. Nothing wrong with that. He's earned it.

Taker and HBK have both earned it. Granted HBK isn't a big man like Taker, but his body has taken a lot of hits over the years.

He was lucky to come back when he did a few years ago after being away for several years. Taker is trying to avoid having to take that much time off due to injury, and it's worked well for the last 5 or 6 years. He was ready to retire in 2004 or 2005, but Vince set him with a schedule like this and he's still going at it.

HBK probably has the body of a beat-up 62-year-old, at least on the inside. Wrestling is not kind to high flyers (which HBK used to be and still is on occasion) and big men. That HBK and Taker put on the match they did at Wrestlemania, at their ages and at this stage of their careers, made it even more incredible. Neither one has exactly been what you'd call a mat wrestler over the course of their careers.

    Fail so far tonight.

Some nights I wonder if VKM wants RAW to fail. Tonight is one of those nights.

    SummerFest? For real Jeremy Piven?

I nailed this back when the whole Donald Trump thing happened and they announced a special guest host every week. I knew it was going to be a marketing thing and they'd just trot out a celebrity who was promoting something. At least Shaq made it somewhat interesting last week. ZZ Top was horrible and Piven has been worse. I guess next week someone from the new GI Joe movie will be guest host.

I heard that, and laughed. Then I changed the channel. You could at least educate your guest hosts, Vince.

At least with Shaq, there was nothing to really promote. Not a lot -- unlike tonight -- was shoved down our throats.

I was pretty psyched about The Goods, mainly because of Piven. Tonight has ruined it for me.

I agree. I'm the type of person to have an adverse reaction to advertising overkill. The more they promote The Goods, the more I want to stay far away from it.

I understand WWE is a business and Vince is trying to make money. But when it gets to the point where you're whoring out two hours for the sake of a dollar, that's when I lose interest.

Wake me when SummerFest gets here.

Yep. So DX is making another comeback...

    Great... ::)

Why are you such a Debbie Downer tonight?

    :D

Been watching a lot of old school wrestling on justin.tv.

I liked the good ol' days when there were decent storylines and feuds.

    Now look where we are.

I agree with him. DX has had more comebacks than Brett Favre at this point.

Piven is making so many mistakes that I almost wonder if he's playing the "character" of his fast-talking used car salesman. And while I loved Ken Jeong (sp?) in The Hangover and on Adam Carolla's podcast, his moments are really falling flat tonight.
