It's not hard to imagine Orton tapping, then complaining the next night about something illegal beforehand that fucked him over. But of Orton-Cena-Taker-Punk, Orton's the one I'd bet on tapping.

How they're going to get out of Taker-Punk with a submission is interesting indeed.

Taker has his gogoplata or whatever it's called that he can use.
Haven't seen Punk use a submission move. Does he have one?

IIRC, Taker made Big Show tap with the gogoplata in a PPV last year. It was a Last Man Standing match, so Big Show was tapping for no reason (other than a kayfabe 'Damn, this hold hurts!'), but he tapped nonetheless. With that in mind, Punk tapping (and quickly) would work.

The PPV is set up where there's no way Cena doesn't walk out with the strap...unless WWE decides to be creative. In my mind, this would be like Hogan tapping anytime he was in the WWF...that happen too often? ::) They've booked Cena as a Hogan-type of force that can never be beaten clean. Plus, what's the closest thing Orton has to a true submission move? He would have to knock Cena out cold.

I've seen HBK tap, but that was only to the aforementioned Cena force at WM23 after spending a *lot* of time trying to get out of the STF. Needless to say, Cody or Teddy is gonna get a sharpshooter from the Showstopper in Montreal :D

I could see them going 180 with HBK, having Teddy/Cody put HIM in the 'shooter and get a quick bell.

The question isn't whether Punk or Taker have submission finishers, it's whether either have ever given up. I don't recall Taker tapping or quitting, and I'm pretty sure Punk hasn't in his WWE run (not sure if he ever tapped in ROH)

Someone has to lose that match via submission, and I think that's where you're most likely to get your screwy finish to protect both wrestlers superstars.

Punk *will* tap. Mark my words... *hope I'm right*

Well, I see Undertaker is back from his six-month siesta.

I hope he tears knee ligaments next week.

I hate the guy. Absolutely hate him.

Hogan did actually tap to Angle when he came back in 2003. In WCW, he submitted to Luger and Sting, and (maybe?) Bret Hart. I remember the first time Hogan was put in the torture rack by Luger on a Nitro. Hogan was still a babyface (pre-NWO) and Luger was a tweener, yet the fans absolutely popped when Luger racked him.

Prior to that, in his pre-WWF run, Hogan submitted to Inoki.

And while I can definitely see a sharpshooter from HBK, or given to him, I could also see a Crippler Crossface, just to put a Benoit presence in the Montreal match.

Don't be so sure. Does it really do anyone any good to have Taker beat Punk right now?
If Taker wins, yeah it's a face victory and the fans will love it. But it'll also make Punk look like a wimp. He can beat Jeff Hardy, he can steal the title with MITB clauses, but he can't beat one of the big boys. He's still chasing his tail, basically.
Now if Punk wins, he's a legit champ and a threat to anyone, anywhere, on any level. It kicks off a feud with Taker that can run, maybe, through Survivor Series and include a couple of great PPV matches. It elevates Punk to the next level at a time when he's right on the cusp of it.
If they're smart, Punk wins this one and Taker keeps chasing him. Taker can beat him eventually, but now is not a good time to do it.

Just reading some of these posts, including my last one, and it kind of strikes me as funny that there's an air of legitimacy about the outcome of pro wrestling matches these days. Yes, the outcome is predetermined. Obviously. But the backstage motivations and the direction the storylines can and will take throw some measure of unpredictability into things. You can guess who can win and have a good idea of who will win, but in the end there is some uncertainty there.
The DX-Legacy match and the Taker-Punk match this week are prime examples. The older, more established guys should be the "favorites" and beat the younger guys. But if they're trying to elevate Legacy and Punk and keep the audience guessing, then Legacy and Punk have a good shot at winning.
Maybe I'm babbling. But I think it's an interesting twist to the old "You know it's all fake, right?" argument.
