2009 Running Pro Wrestling Thread

I'm sorry, you just can't advertise a HIAC PPV without a single big spot. Especially if you're going to tease one the way Raw did at the end of the show last week.

 

You'd think that perhaps they'll push Legacy into the title rotation. .. mentored turn on mentor but the DX win probably redirected that and oh my God, no one wants HHH back in the equation. I thought Edge was going to be the "someone who returned" though if there was any news to anyone's return, I missed it. Is he gone for good?

Since one championship is stuck on Raw, and besides Legacy, who is it going to be if not for a returned Edge? Crap, all the talent is either on ECW or Smackdown now. Maybe Drew what's-his-name... I'd like to have seen R-Truth in one vs. Orton but now, I can see Drew shooting his mouth off tomorrow and perhaps getting a shot.

WWE's writers appear in a recession.

 

We also had a pool going here with the kids and they were all amazed I was perfect on my predictions. When WWE can't surprise you in some way, it's sad.

 

Edge is done until at least SummerSlam next year I'd imagine. ACL tears are a bitch.

When did they say someone was coming back?

 

Edge is only two months removed from a torn Achilles tendon. It'll be a while yet before he's back. Even in a non-wrestling role they'd be wasting him by bringing him back this soon. Last I heard they were shooting for Wrestlemania.

 

Just reading the recaps online.

What a boring PPV. What in the world is the point of starting off with one of the main events? Hell, the first match should always be reserved for matches like divas bouts or the match with R-Truth. Having one of the title matches go first is just damned stupid.

 

At the start of the telecast...suppositional in its form, I think. Two people watching here with us commented on it too.

 

So who came back? I've only read the Taker-Punk and Orton-Cena recaps so far.

 

I didn't see anyone come back. Unless you count Mysterio.

 

For the record, I *hated* the Taker-Punk match...quite possibly the most lackluster cage match (let alone HIAC) of all time. Cena-Orton had a decent payoff with the punt, though Cena got up afterward...which I'm actually OK with since Orton was selling an injury to the same leg. DX/Legacy was cool in that you knew DX was gonna win, but it was interesting to see how.

I agree, though, none of these HIAC matches should count as such. I understand the TV-PG aspect of the whole thing, but a HIAC match without bodily carnage and/or a huge spot (let alone THREE of them) is inexcusable.

So I take it Bragging Rights is replacing Cyber Sunday?

 

Seems like it and this appears to be a good thing. I like the idea of having a Raw vs. Smackdown PPV right now. It'll give the writers a chance to regroup and start some new feuds to get to Survivor Series and then to Rumble.

 

It's a great concept, but does this mean we'll have Orton/Taker for about the 1,800th time?
