They started to do that with the Miz, and I think it really helped him. Miz and Cena had those one or two PPV matches and one decent match on Raw earlier this summer. And then Cena went all Cena on him and, after a nice competitive 10-minute match, beat him in 30 seconds with the Five Moves of Doom.
I like Kingston in the ring, but what's holding him back is he doesn't seem to have any personality beyond his wrestling. I can't remember if I've ever heard him cut a promo.

  3. Looks like maybe those of you who were clamering for some "competition for the WWE" may get what you want. I'll say this, my curiosity was peaked when the whole, "Shane bought WCW out from under Vince's nose" angle started. Too bad it died such a quick and painful death.

You think this is a work?

I'd say this is legit. Shane has never really shown himself to have the obsession with the wrestling business that his sister has. Stephanie is the heir apparent in WWE and probably always has been. Maybe Shane's going to help his mom with her campaign for the Senate.

Then again, he'll probably be back with WWE within two years. They always come back to Vince McMahon.

  6. Not necessarily a work, maybe Shane just wants to build a brand, or maybe the senate campaign idea has some legs to it. The only reason I brought up WCW was that I was a bit more interested when they started selling the Shane purchase.

Actually, given how willing Shane was to sacrifice his body in the ring even though he wasn't a wrestler, I think he was just as obsessed with the biz as the rest of his family. Maybe because he is married with a kid or two now, he's not as into it. But when the WWE teased that angle last year with dissension between Shane and Stephanie about running Raw, I wonder if that was McMahon using yet another "real" thing in a storyline.

This is nothing but conjecture on my part, but I always thought it was plausible that Shane felt pushed aside a bit as Stephanie and HHH obtained more booking power backstage. While I don't think he'll go and start the next WCW - he can't be that rich on his own, can he? - I imagine he saw the writing on the wall with Stephanie being the heir apparent to Vince, and realized that getting in with another company in his early 30s is a better plan, with the WWE as a fallback.

He was in his early 30s when he "bought" WCW. He'll be 40 two weeks after he leaves WWE.

So, programming question. Can someone explain to me what the F Smackdown is doing with their 'team' at Bragging Rights?

Eric Estrada AND Drew McIntyre AND Dolph Ziggler? On one team?

I mean, I understand having Cryme Time (The brand's only legit/developed tag team) and I understand having Kane (counters the addition of Mark Henry) and I damn well understand Jericho (the only headliner on the team) but those three?

I'm all for giving newbies their shot but three fairly undeveloped superstars (Yes, I know Ziggler is a legit IC title contender but the guy is still not completely developed) in the alleged main event of the show? Really?

At least Raw's team makes sense. You've got three guys who can legitimately headline a PPV (HHH, HBK, Show), two solid midcarders (Henry + Kofi) and two young but promising midcarders (Swagger/Rhodes).

Am I the only one that thinks this match SHOULD be a squash? If they're going Survivor Series rules, Raw should win 5-2. If they're going straight up first fall wins, it shouldn't even be that close.

    Why is JeriShow split up?

Technically, Show's a Raw wrestler, Jericho's a Smackdown wrestler. They had a little tiff at last Monday's Raw, and Show declared he wanted to be on Raw's team.

Hopefully, they don't break them up right now permanently. They're one of the few things worth watching.

Breaking them up would be one of the dumbest decisions made by Vince. Not quite as bad as Vince being killed, but still pretty bad.
