I was always kind of skeptical of these stories... and then I saw "Beyond the Mat", which had Vince McMahon doing voiceover as he tried to convince the-wrestler-that-became-Droz that he had a super awesome gimmick for him instead - Puke. You know, because of his ability to puke on command. And it had McMahon doing a loud voiceover as Droz tried to puke into a garbage can. "OH MY GOD, IT LOOKS LIKE HE'S GONNA PUKE!"

After seeing that, it became crystal clear why guys like Duke the Dumpster, The Boogeyman and Bastion Booger were conceived.

The Boogeyman character had so much potential, in my mind.

And then it just got stupid.

As stupid as some of Vince's gimmicks are, you've got to admit wrestling would be a much more boring pastime without them.

Anyone watching Bragging Rights? If not, here's what we've got so far...
    --Miz def. Morrison
-- SD divas def. RAW divas
-- Undertaker retains Goldie...Batista turns heel by beating the shit out of Mysterio after the match

EDIT: SD wins the 7-on-7 (and a trophy...really) when Big Show turns on his team, chokeslams Kofi and walks out. Jericho gets the pin. Ironman match next.

I now will use post No. 1,000 to say this: FUCK JOHN CENA

Solid. I would have liked to see Cena go to Smackdown.

Not having seen the show and just commenting on booking:

    * Would have put Morrison over Miz as revenge for the way Miz turned on him at the draft, but Miz needed the win more to establish his credibility, so I'm OK with it. Everyone's on the Morrison train already (I'd say he's my favorite WWE guy and possibly favorite wrestler period).

    * Turning Batista makes sense, but it sounds like it was clumsily handled. Smackdown needed another good heel (it drops off pretty quickly after CM Punk and Jericho, who's busy with the tag titles). And he said somewhere that he wanted to go out a heel.

    * Big Show turning on Raw makes sense, though I would like to have seen something where Kane pins Big Show to get the win, then challenges Jericho to dump Show and make him partner. Big Show's due for another face run, especially since he's got a wacky comedy movie coming out where he's a big stupid handyman.

    * Cena had to win, because Orton's going off into an angle with Ted DiBiase and the title belt doesn't really add that much to it. No sense tying it in when it can be used as a prop for something else (I'd really like to see Cena-Swagger as a short-term feud).

    RE: Botchtisteroids
What happened was there were a couple moments where Batista and Mysterio had chances to cover Taker. The first time Rey finally did it, but it was broken up by Punk. The second was after Batista hit a powerbomb on Taker, then Rey broke up the count, then Batista broke up Rey's count. They start arguing and Batista pushes Rey out of the ring.

After the match, Matthews tries to interview them both in the ring, then Batista snaps.

    RE: Ironman Match
Absolute waste of an hour. Lot of cheap pins and the like to feebly attempt to keep people amused. Obviously Orton-DiBiase is the next step on one end, but who the hell will Cena face?

I'm excited for a Orton/DiBiase feud. I think the two will work together well in the ring and it'll help give Ted a huge push.

I, personally, am waiting for when Vince will give the new Hart Foundation a push on one of the bigger shows (i.e. Raw or Smackdown). Those kids are going to be superstars.

Cynical answer: HHH (though it turns out they haven't had a 1-on-1 feud in some time and they had a pretty damned fine match on Raw last week, so it's not like getting Chavo vs. Hornswaggle in the Survivor Series main).

Hopeful answer: They give Swagger (my second-favorite wrestler) a chance to do a minor feud. He doesn't have to win; in fact, they need to let the belt stay on someone for a few months. But if he shows respectably, he gets the rub that DX gave Legacy.

Actually, I'd guess DX will be tied up with Jerishow for a while. Big Show turning on HHH fuels it.

Longshot: Ted DiBiase upsets Cena for the title, Orton turns on him fully the next night, a la Evolution's turn on Orton when he beat some Canadian wrestler dude whose name can't be mentioned for fear he'll come out of his grave like a zombie and kill Dean Malenko.

Tyson Kidd? Sure thing. DH Smith? I have my doubts. No charisma to speak of, and he's clearly the weaker of the two. The clear Anvil to Kidd's Hitman at this point.

Oh, and they're on Smackdown now. They've been feuding with Cryme Tyme since the Bicentennial

It seems like the current world title storylines have closed. Could be a good time to get some new guys in there, but do they dare with a major PPV coming up?
