And I think Kane's elimination was the first time I've ever seen the "pick him up and lift him over" maneuver actually work.

Predictable, yet logical and enjoyable show. Good, not great, Rumble and strong match from Jeff Hardy-Edge.

I'm glad The Onthetaker didn't win.

Bad night for Santino (out of the Rumble in a second) and his girlfriend (lost the Diva championship. She'll probably bitch-slap him around in the bedroom tonight.

Wow. This is as busy as I ever seen this thread get on any day. Just caught that live stream now, I should be able to watch the full Rumble match.

Surprised they kept the HBK-JBL thing going? He superkicks both. Cena still wins. And did anyone think the pop for drilling Cena was almost as hot was the one delivered to JBL?

Orton got a better-than-the-top-heel-should-get pop for winning the Rumble.

The Hardy feud could be good. I had a feeling it was coming. And it makes sense why they showed a dejected Matt Hardy for a good minute after losing to Jack Swagger. Far more facetime than any other loser (except Jeff) got after their loss.

I think there are many vocal men who will cheer Orton despite him being the biggest heel on the card. He has a legit badass swagger and coldness about him, both in the ring and out of it. Cena's Hulk Hogan-in-baggy-jeans face role does not translate well with that particular audience in the post-nWo, DX, Stone Cold, and The Rock era. I don't think Vince cares because Cena and Orton both garner some of the loudest, most diverse reactions that I can ever remember.

Anyone else shocked at the reaction MVP got? One of the largest pops of the night. The place exploded. WTF?

I thought the rumble was good, a solid 4 star PPV. Edge/ Hardy was real good. How about matt helping EDGE? And edge's reacton after was priceless.

No good surprises in the rumble (my buddy had to call me up and ruin the rvd surprise). How bad did RVD look by the way. I thought he looked terrible.

Orton/Cena is going to be a great main event ot WM. Loved how Legacy took over in the rumble match. Loved Cody throwing out Goldust on Orton's orders.

They definitely couldn't follow Royal Rumble 2008, which was one of the best in its history. Undertaker/Michaels (who finished off RR 2007) were the first two out, Marella was third and promptly thrown out, Hornswoggle kept pulling guys out of the ring, Snuka and Piper squared off while everyone watched them, Foley and HHH went after each other in a nod to the 2000 RR also in Madison Square Garden, Cena made his huge return...

I still thought it was a good actual Rumble though. Not great, not one of the better ones, but it was solid and had some entertaining sequences. RVD definitely looked rusty.

Like any battle royal, once you get 10 or 11 guys in the ring some of the better moves get lost in the mayhem. Like Morrison picking up Rey Mysterio for what looked like an inverted atomic drop, and then Mysterio (while in the air) nailing Orton with a bicycle kick. Or CM Punk actually catching Triple H with a GTS.
And Orton's RKO on Mysterio when he did a springboard off the top rope was just nasty.

I think the Hardy-Hardy feud and the Christian/Edge component sounds like something to commence at No Way Out ... as in Christian debuting at that PPV.
