...it's his return. The ECW roster is thin as hell and he should get some good matches with Swagger (WrestleMania perhaps) as the top face before moving to a bigger show, probably to take on Edge for the title.

It's a smart move. He was never as over as a Jeff Hardy in WWE and not many people watch TNA.

Before he left WWE, he was huge fan favorite, though. I don't think his ECW status will be permanent, and I can see him easily becoming one of the top faces on Smackdown.

He was a big fan favorite (not close to a Hardy level though), but did he even ever turn face towards the end? All I recall is that cocky Captain Charisma heel character that he took and ran with.

I agree that this will be a CM Punk-like stay in ECW. He won't be there for long.

Think of the standard WWE match. They've got to get him used to the style of wrestling WWE likes, rather than what he's been doing in TNA for the past few years. You don't have him work through the WWE ring rust on Smackdown or Raw.

He was a face when he left.

And he was getting some big pops from the crowds.

Not saying you're incorrect or anything, but how does the style of wrestling change between promotions? Like how is the way Christian was wrestling on TNA differ from the way he wrestles in WWE? I mean he uses the same finishing move and all.

The ring, for one. The script. The way he's asked to perform certain maneuvers, work with certain performers, etc.

It's all an adjustment, probably akin to a four-year college basketball player moving to the NBA. He won't get caught up in the change, but it's not the same surroundings.

Agreed. I didn't think of it from that perspective, but that TNA ring was screwed up, too. Considering Christian has been in WWE before, I don't think the transition will be that hard for him.

He was gone for, what, two years? So it might take longer than we'd expect.

Sorry...took me forever to get back to this.

I go back to a couple of RVD/Jerry Lynn matches in the real ECW. WWE had the two wrestle on Heat once...and it was a completely different feel. Some amazing spots from the ECW matches were taken out altogether; others were left in, since they'd worked before, but the idiot crowd kept waiting for...I dunno...Irish whips, clotheslines, big boots and choke slams.

You could tell that there was definitely a set rhythm to WWE matches. It's painfully obvious now. There are so few guys whose matches really stand out; 95 percent of the time, you know what you're getting and who you're getting it from.

Batista, Cena and Trips are prime examples of that.

Punch. Punch. Punch. Punch block. Counter punch. Irish whip. Off the ropes. Clothesline. Play to crowd.

    Yawn. Change channel.
