Ahem (from Page 1 of this thread:)

    Some other great entrances:

The Rock's (His intro during the Owen Hart tribute show was the loudest pop I've ever heard).
Hogan's (Both Real American and Voodoo Child)
Triple H's (However, it's all gone to his head).
Rob Van Dam's (in ECW, with the fans singing along)
    Mr. Perfect's

    Other thoughts:

    1. Oh great, Vince comes back, just what the show needs.

    2. Orton wins the Rumble to get the title shot.

I agree...maybe with an underhanded tactic like getting eliminated but no refs seeing it, then sneaking back (Austin, 1997). I could see Jericho winning it as well (also by less-than-honorable means), or maybe a SmackDown guy (Taker en route to a retirement title match at WM?).

    Other comments on Raw:
    — What's up with this Legacy bit? It went from being a 4-man stable to just Orton and Rhodes in 2 weeks...makes no sense, unless Rhodes also turns when DiBiase comes back...?
    — Anyone else waiting for HBK to snap? I was kinda bummed he showed some "integrity" last night...it almost would've made more sense if he just superkicked all 3 guys instead of just Orton and Jericho. It wasn't like it would've "injured" Cena...after all, it's not the badass Orton punt to the head. Either way, storyline still sucks.
    — I was stoked for a classic IC title match, followed by Punk going over and bringing cred to the belt by holding it for several months and taking on all comers. Instead, we got *that* display...what was that, a 3-minute DQ? Maybe it carries over into the Rumble.
    — Mike Knox needs to get...the...fuck...out of WWE. He can't work to save his life (case in point: The D-Lo Brown debacle...in London IIRC) so why put him with Mysterio and Bourne (he's coming back soon, right?)...the angle blows, and nobody cares.
    — Something's *gotta* go down when Vince returns (hopefully not his pants :D), though it was nice seeing the kids run the show. And where the hell did Shane go all of a sudden?

Is Snuka not part of Legacy?

Orton kicked him out because Rhodes got the pin in their tag match IIRC

And the IC Title match is on Raw next week, not at the Royal Rumble. The stipulations are as the following, though: If Regal gets DQ'ed, he will lose the title after getting himseld intentionally DQ'ed this past week.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. I would have much rathered a hard-fought, drawn out match between two great wrestlers. As much as I hate Regal, the guy, in the absense of Benoit, is one of the best technical wrestlers in the ring and if there's anyone to be in the ring with him, I'd say CM Punk.

I miss the days when we had just truely great wrestling matches like the classic Benoit/Angle matches.

Another reason I loved ECW in its heyday. The fans really appreciated technical wrestling as much as a flaming chair to the face. I remember several occasions where it would be a great exchange between Van Dam and Jerry Lynn that would get a long applause afterwards just for the sake of it being clean and very well done. And both Lynn and RVD would both appreciate the hell out of it.

It's really great when you see that nowadays in WWE. I'll never forget when Benoit and Angle battled one another at WrestleMaina, IIRC. Although Angle won the match, it was a hell of a match to watch and it wasn't like the crap you see today, it was pure technical wrestling and the two put on a clinic. After Angle had already left the ring, Benoit got a standing ovation from the entire crowd simply just for the hell of a performance he put on. You know he appreciated that.

I remember several times at ECW house shows leading the applause for technical wrestling displays. Of course I also led chants of "Where's My Pizza" at the F.B.I. as well :D

Wow. I forgot about the F.B.I. That was when WWE's ECW actually had decent storylines. Today, ECW has become a sort of breeding ground for all of WWE's upcoming talent to make a splash before they get moved to Raw or Smackdown.

That was well before WWE bought out ECW. This was back when ECW still had that great buzz and put on fantastic house shows that made me go back-to-back nights even if it was to see the same matches and the same results, but only to see new spots or new interactions with fans. Damn I miss those days.

I knew the rematch would be on Raw...I was hoping for a rare rivalry between 2 good workers, as it seems on here several of us miss :D

I would have loved to see those days. I've seen DVDs and clips on youtube, but just attending those events was probably something beyond imaginable. Fans seemed to care less about rules and carelessly screamed whatever obscenities they wanted.
