I see what you did there, Slappy. :-*

Wisconsin's loss was to Ohio State on the road. It's not like the Buckeyes drummed them out of the Horseshoe, Wisconsin was in that game for quite a while.

Of the one-loss teams I put behind Wisconsin: Penn State lost at home to Iowa, Pitt lost to Duke-losing NC State, Rutgers to Cincinnati at home, Notre Dame to Michigan, Missouri to Nebraska at home, Tulsa at Oklahoma, Idaho at Washington. None of them have a win that is better than any one Wisconsin win, in fact, nearly all of them have wins over far inferior teams to Wisconsin. Shit, Idaho might have the best win resume out of all of them.

And all of their losses are worse, save perhaps Rutgers, though the Scarlet Knights were badly beaten on their home field. Wisconsin lost in Columbus.

West Virginia has an argument over Wisconsin, but a weak and unconvincing one. They lost at Auburn. Wisconsin and WestByGod each pounded on bullshit I-AA competition (West Virginia over Liberty, Wisconsin over Wofford).

But when you compare West Virginia's Division I wins (East Carolina, Colorado, at Syracuse, combined record: 6-11) to Wisconsin's (Northern Illinois, Fresno State, Michigan State, at Minnesota, combined record: 12-10), the Badgers have the edge. Plus, a loss at Ohio State is slightly less damaging than a loss at Auburn.

In other words, my rationale is based on logic, whether you agree with that logic or not is up to you, but cram the fanboi BS! :D

You're just mad because Ball State will get its first win over Eastern Michigan!

ME? You have that confused with Hank Scorpio... Now if it was Western, which beat Toledo, which beat Colorado, which hasn't really beaten anyone, I'd be mildly upset

    1. Florida (Pvs: 1)
    2. Texas (2)
    3. Alabama (3)
    4. Virginia Tech (5)
    5. Southern Cal (6)

    14. Oklahoma St. (12)
    15. Georgia Tech (13)
    16. Kansas (14)
    17. Utah (15)
    18. Oklahoma (16)

    22. South Carolina (UNR)
    23. Nebraska (UNR)
    24. Houston (UNR)
    25. Notre Dame (UNR)

South Carolina, Nebraska, Houston and Notre Dame replace Georgia, Ole Miss, Missouri and Auburn.

Did a whole lot of shaking things up. Jumped Miami and Iowa into the top 15 and dropped other teams behind them that, looking back, I had ranked too high.

Damnit Bubbs, can't you keep your MAC fanbois straight?

And when the Cardinals lose to the mighty Beagles, they might as well just fold it up and go Division I-AA.

    1, Florida
    2, Alabama
    3, Texas
    4, Virginia Tech
    5, USC
    6, Texas Christian
    7, Boise State
    8, Cincinnati
    9, Iowa
    10, Louisiana State
    11, Ohio State
    12, Oregon
    13, South Florida
    14, Miami
    15, Oklahoma
    16, Kansas
    17, Penn State
    18, Georgia Tech
    19, Oklahoma State
    20, Brigham Young
    21, Pittsburgh
    22, Notre Dame
    23, West Virginia
    24, Nebraska
    25, Central Michigan

I rarely do it, but I jumped Alabama over Texas. Tide's win against a resurgent Virginia Tech team is better than any Texas win so far.

And Central Michigan debuts. Chipps lost to Arizona (19-6) of the Pac-10 but beat the team (Michigan State) that beat the team (Michigan) that was unbeaten at the time. And I think CM could beat any other candidate for No. 25 (Wisconsin or Stanford or Ole Miss or Mizzou or Michigan or Utah), so why not?

I thought about switching Bama and Texas but decided not to because neither win was that impressive. That may not be a good reason to some ... oh well.

Bama was not impressive last night -- at least on offense. Defense was solid, but also exposed Jevan Snead as a fraud Qb of a fraud team not seen since the days of Darrell Bevell.
And Bama's offense was horrid. McElroy was like the second coming of John Parker Wilson...
I think if the two teams played as they did on Saturday, Florida would beat Bama soundly. Having said that, I also think Bama didn't play like it has this season.
