    HATER!

I also noticed Wisconsin is showing up in everyone's else polls this week too, proving I was way ahead of my time. I am the Velvet Underground of pollsters. :D

I'm not even going to try and defend Rutgers as a team that would be deserving of a vote in a normal year, but someone had to get the No. 25 spot. They have two losses, both to somewhat decent teams. I won't rank Oklahoma or Virginia Tech ahead of them, both are way too inconsistent and haven't done much of squat in games of import, so why not Rutgers?

I've become somewhat of a Rutgers fan the last few years; they were a laughingstock when I was growing up, and now the Knights are bona fide. They lost 3 tremendous offensive weapons (QB and 2 WR) who helped them to 3 straight bowl wins. I want to see the Knights continue to build their program. Schiano is getting there.

    That said ...

Oklahoma's 3-touchdown win at 1-loss Kansas is better than any Rutgers win. Oklahoma has lost 3 games by 5 points.

Virginia Tech ... eh, they're a bumbling bunch.

Rutgers has played Howard and Texas Southern. So throw away those 2 wins. I'm apt to say throw away the win against Florida International, although FIU is D-I; but, it was only 23-15, in Piscataway.

They lost by 32 to Cincy but played 1-loss Pitt pretty tough in a 24-17 loss. Savage the rookie QB is starting to grow his wings. Rutgers' win at UConn was its best win of the season.

If you go by wins based off the schedule, Temple is more deserving of the 25th slot than is Rutgers. The Owls have won 6 in a row, including a pretty impressive against Navy. I didn't see that happening.

    Anyhoo, it's all subjective.

    ** ** **

Neat story about Jasper Howard and his best friend Tim Brown, the WR who went 81 yards in the final seconds to lift Rutgers over UConn in Saturday's thriller. Sometimes it's crazy how things are all tied together.

To me, Oklahoma has had their shot and have failed everytime. At some point, three losses have to matter, even if they were close losses. I think voter's are giving them too much of a benefit of the doubt based partly on past history. As for beating KU, that win is taking on less and less importance as the Jayhawks plummet to Earth.

The thing we both agree on is that slots 15 to 25 are a crapshoot; just a bunch of December bowl games.

Just noticed the Pac-10 has more AP ranked teams than the SEC.
