I like Williams. But his shots aren't falling like they should be. I'm sure that will change over the course of the season.

Interesting thoughts about Wall, but he has only gone heads up against one top PG so far, and that was Rose. He was inactive when the Wizards played the Celtics.

He did play Rose pretty much to a draw, though.

Credit to Simmons for tweeting this. LeBatard at his greatest. And by greatest, I mean absolute worst. This should be replayed after every Heat game.

I certainly expect the Heat to turn it around at some point. It's just asking too much of the basketball gods for them to be a 43-39 team.

    But...

Another great showing tonight in Dallas, followed by the dreaded players-only meeting after the game.

I do think they have some issues that aren't going to magically disappear simply because they'll eventually have played 70 games instead of 17. Miami fans are complaining about Spoelstra, especially his offense. So that's now three coaches LeBron's played for who apparently didn't have a clue about how to coach offense. The fact he apparently has to be at his best by pounding the ball for 18 seconds is simply a coincidence and is totally unrelated to his team's struggles to install a decent offense.

Wade certainly doesn't look healthy. I'm sure that will change, or, maybe not. He did have a few years there where he was a shell, owing to the injuries. He came back the last few years but if he's banged up again and a few years older...

And just thinking about other times superstars have come together. 2008 Celtics started 15-2. When the Lakers acquired Gasol - in midseason, so obviously didn't have a training camp, which is another popular excuse for the Heat - they won 11 of their first 12 with him. When Barkley went to the Suns, they started 20-4. Lakers in 04 with Malone and Payton started 18-3 and if Malone doesn't injure a knee a few games later, they probably cruise to 60-plus victories. Moses joining the Sixers in 1983, they dominated immediately.

The point being, if all three players meshed perfectly, we would have seen a much better start than this. You'd certainly think they'd get better as the year goes on, but James and Wade aren't going to be changing their games to complement each other any better. Bosh isn't going to turn into a low-post threat. It probably will turn around, but there's always the chance they are more like the Rockets of Pippen-Chuck-Hakeem, although obviously a hell of a lot younger and in their primes.

That said, I'm sure Mike Miller will solve all their problems.

I love reading Heisler on the NBA. The stuff about Miller Lite at the end made me chuckle. I'm sure they'll figure some of it out. But I'm also inclined to agree with STG and Junkie. They'll be better, but Wade is still a luxury car with 160,000 miles on it and not enough oil changes, and Bosh is still a huge wuss and always will be.

It's a damn shame what happened to ESPN's Heat Index. Snicker.

This is simply not true. The NBA is more of a star driven league than any other. By the time they win their title, there are always role players who contribute, teams win because of their top 3 players who can influence a game more than in any other sport.
