Do you think the right coach could fix the Heat?

I honestly don't think they can be fixed without someone addressing the rebounding/defending problems.

Did LeBron not know who the coach of the Heat was when he took his talents to South Beach?

It's easy to look at a team like the Heat and think the offense can be fixed by installing some kind of motion or non-play-based offense. The triangle, for instance, eliminates the traditional roles, creates spacing and negates any weaknesses at point guard. But LeBron James has never shown that he'd be able - or, perhaps, willing - to fit into a system.

For example, Kobe Bryant's reputation as a selfish basketball player is well-earned; as well-earned as his reputation for having a high basketball IQ and appreciation (and respect for) of NBA history. He fits himself into an offense, into a team, as long as he isn't being asked to pass to Smush freaking Parker and Kwame Brown.

LeBron has never had to have an understanding of the game on a level other than "Give me the ball and watch me work." A good coach can find a way to make he and Wade work together on the floor; Jordan and Pippen did. The question is whether that coach will be effective.

The defensive troubles are all in the post, and that can be solved by better players (good luck with that) and Bosh growing a pair (again, good luck with that). If winning "not one, not two, not three, not four . . . " titles and winning the title this season was the goal, they'll have to call this one a lost season.

Ideally, the Lakers (or even the Celtics, if Garnett and Pierce don't spend more time running their mouths about it than playing) win the title again, then a lockout wipes out 2011-12. LeBron has to wait another year, the Lakers' and Celtics' current groups quietly decline, and 2012-2013 starts with the Heat signing Shaq and acting like that will solve their post problems.

"Tell Jeremy Lin I said 'Ching, chong, bong, chow, ching, bong, bong!"

/as long as we're inventing future Shaq quotes, might as well run with it

I said this a few pages ago, but I am very, very interested to see the Chicago Bulls this week after Carlos Boozer returns. Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah are All-Stars, and Boozer gives them an even more formidable front court. Until the Heat pick it up, Chicago might be the best constructed team in the East from here going forward.

I don't even think if Bosh grew a pair that he has the strength to be the post presence this team needs, but it's hard to disagree with anything you just typed.

And I would guess the OKC steps in after he Celts/Lakers drop back.

That is why I would do something ASAP if I were the Heat.

One of the biggest problems with the Heat is Wade has been flat out awful. Before the season, he was the fourth-best player in the league at worst, and thus far this year, he's not even in the Top 25. Can't shoot, can't defend, can play off the ball.

LeBron has taken a lot of shit, and most of it deservedly so, but the only guy who can fix this is Wade by: 1. Playing better 2. Growing some balls and supporting his fucking coach.

Here's the ESPN HEAT INDEXXXXXX!!! on the shit first half he played the other night against the Wiz as an example.

Wade is definitely injured and his trying to tough it out. I'm not trying to make excuses, but if he was healthy he wouldn't be playing this bad, and he's proven in the past that he can be a top player in this league. Bringing in James and Bosh, didn't make him a bad player.

It's December 1. If Wade is hurting he should sit until he gets well, and let James and Bosh carry the load. Better a missing superstar than a malfunctioning one.

Not to blow myself, but I said all the way back when this went down that Wade was going to get hurt and it was going to cause them problems. There are too many minutes on that body. He's not going to suddenly get healthier and/or more explosive. By the end of that contract, the Heat will playing him 21 minutes a game.

I agree that he should sit, and I don't know why he doesn't take a few games...maybe weeks off to heal his body. In my eyes, he needs it.
