Well, I wouldn't take that approach if I were a Caps fan. I'd want to finish no lower than 5th because you do not want to meet either the Flyers or the Bruins in the first round. They're the two best teams right now. I know it may not seem much to non-Leafs followers but the Bruins picking up Kaberle was brilliant.
Maybe the best puck moving defenseman in the league and it looks like he's gonna be paired with Chara on the PP.

Who would have thought a Czech and a Slovak would get along so well? :)

Read the comments on Carrera's blog this morning. They're stupefying. It's like there's a huge group of people who want the Caps to lose just so McPhee and Boudreau will get fired. If the Caps can trade for a second-line center and/or wing, and if Green gets healthy, this team is as capable as any of winning the East. Caps are within one of Tampa but have played two more games than the 'Ning. Could use a Phoenix win tonight in St. Pete, for sure.

Crazy to think Crosby is done for the year. Kind of like Morneau last year with the Twins. Seemingly innocuous play turns out to end a superstar's season. Just shows how much more seriously people are taking concussions these days.

The Caps' biggest problem is coming up with a way to generate offense within the context of the new system of responsibility.

Big blow for the Minnesota Wild, they have lost Koivu for a month due to a broken finger.

Phil Kessel, after unsuccessfully trying to go around on all five Islanders a hundred times on its own, finally does it. Leafs win 2-1 on his goal.

Still not crazy about the guy. Unreal skill, questionable decisions.

I think the Kaberle trade was a good one for the Bruins but I wouldn't even put Kaberle in the top 20 in the league as a puck mover let alone number 1.

I know Beef it's just been a while since we have done this. I love what the Oilers are doing now

Probably not the first to say this, and I haven't read this whole thread: Insane how the Caps went from a high-scoring team with a terrible D to a low-scoring team with a great D.

My point is that after six months and 82 games, it should not come down to a point or two. It's like a coach whining about a bad call at the end that cost them a game. If your team was that good, you would have taken care of business a long time ago and it never would have come down to that.

When a lower seed gets on a roll and goes to the final, it sort of invalidates the point of playing the regular season. As a fan, I'm not sure I even want to watch anymore until the playoffs if that's all that is going to matter.

Example, Flames lost tonight and Canadiens won. So I don't feel so bad about having to miss the game on Sunday. (I was wanting to go to see the circus and spectacle, not because I expected a high-quality game.)

Don't know if you've seen this already but I enjoyed this article about Mike Danton. Nice to know he's getting a second chance at life. http://cnnsi.printthis.clickability.com/pt/cpt?expire=&title=NEARLY+SEVEN+YEARS+AFTER+HE+TRIED+TO+ARRANGE+A+MURDER,+-+02.28.11+-+SI+Vault&urlID=447400527&action=cpt&partnerID=289881&fb=Y&url=http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1182316/index.htm

Stop me if you've heard this one: Pens lose key player. Brooks Orpik out indefinitely. Expected back some time this season.

And apparently they're gonna be the team that rolls the dice on Kovalev.

Doesn't Kovalev typically light it up for them? They couldn't have picked up someone else instead? Damn.
