Never thought the disparity between the two would be that big. Crosby's playing out of his mind, and it's been absolutely fun to watch.

Only problem? Whatever Ovechkin caught while playing for the Russians ... Malkin caught the same thing.

Fleury is playing like he's a starter but to say he's the main reason the Pens are on an eleven game winning streak is ridiculous.

Sid is the main reason. The rest of the team is the supporting cast. No one--Stamkos or OV included--is in the same league as Crosby.

Imagine if he had some wingers to play with

Toronto could barely get the puck out of its own end in the first. The fact that they managed to score two in the third to make it 4-2 is a testament to their work ethic which exceeds their skill level by about a factor of ten.

Fleury was solid but still, the story is Sid. His two goals give him 20 goals and 35 points in 17 games and a ten point lead in the scoring race. He's playing in another universe.

Price has surprised me to this point, but lets remember we are barely a quarter of the way through the season. And to be clear I didn't say he would never be able to turn his career around, I just doubted his ability to do so in Montreal.

I never said that Fleury was the main reason the Penguins are winning right now, I said that Fleury is a big reason the Penguins are back on track. I don't care how good Crosby is playing right now, if you don't get good goaltending you're not going to win games.

If you go back and read my message again, I stated that Crosby is carrying this team right now.

Yeah, but if he had better wingers, they might not have been able to afford to make the defense better, or keep Jordan Staal, or keep the grit players that help make the team so successful. It's give-and-take in the salary cap world we live in.

I completely understand that, you can't have everything in todays NHL

I guess it depends on how you define "big"

Fleury is playing adequately for a team that has scored the second highest number of goals (after the Flyers) with a goal differential of a whopping plus 27.

Fleury is 24th in Save % and ranks 19th in total number of saves--which means he's not getting bombarded. His GAA is pretty good at #9 but he's also not seeing as many shots

To put it into context, He's made 488 saves to Carey Price's 729 and Price has a save % almost 25 points higher.

Fleury isn't winning any games for the Pens, he's just not losing any.
