Who are the imposters wearing Montreal uniforms?

What the hell kind of jacket is Don Cherry wearing tonight?

The Red Wings should play an outdoor game there.

JR also liked the spinarama. Anything to bring a little excitement to the shootout.

The Bruins trade Marco Sturm to LA for ... nothing in return.

No conditional draft picks. No used Gretzky jerseys. No bags of pucks ... just gave him away to be cap-compliant.

Well technically it was future considerations, but when Chiralli comes right out and says it's basically nothing, hard to say it as anything else. What they do really get is cap space. They are now back under the cap with I think $600,000 to spare, so they have a small bit of wiggle room if they want to pick up a depth player or two at the deadline.

Penguins win their 12th straight. Crosby scores a point in his 18th straight. Fleury wins his 11th straight. So many things to like about the Pens right now, despite Staal not playing in a single game this season and Malkin (knee) sitting out a fourth consecutive game.

I'll be curious to see how some of this translates to HBO's "24/7" series around the Penguins and Capitals. First episode airs Wednesday night.

Thought it was worth noting, and a little surprised I didn't see it on here already, Marcus Naslund had his jersey retired tonight. Third Canuck to have his number go up in the rafters joining former captains Trevor Linden and Stan 'Steamer' Smyl.

Yeah it really makes you wonder what kind of record they might have right now if Fluery hadn't been such a headcase early on. But their ship is certainly on the right track again. Too bad the Mike Comrie experiment didn't work out too well. I thought that was a great offseason pickup and was excited for him but he just didn't materialize at all. And with Staal coming back (one day perhaps) and Connor playing well Comrie may not see the ice again.

Tuesday's game at the Flyers is going to be huge. Philly is playing some great puck as well and those fans in Philly just love when Sid comes to town. What Crosby is doing right now is just sick.

Anybody catch Bobby Ryan's goal for the Ducks vs. Wild last night?
Mikko Koivu dropped his stick. He went to check Ryan and grabbed Ryan's stick and kept it (shoulda been a penalty, but none was called).
Ryan went into the corner without a stick to play the puck and Koivu was there, too. Miettinen pushed Koivu's dropped stick toward the scrum at the boards. When the puck came free, Ryan picked up Koivu's stick and went to the left of the goal.
Toni Lydman shot from the right circle and the rebound came to Ryan, who scored with Koivu's stick.
The other oddity was, Ryan is right-handed and Koivu is left-handed.

Loved how Ryan then held up the stick as if to say, "Fuck you! I can score with anything!!"
