Cool story about a guy named Tom Fenton, who's a coach for Manhattanville College. He got to live the dream, a night in the NHL.

Bryzgalov came down with the flu in New York, and the Coyotes couldn't call up a backup goalie in time, so they scoured the New York area for any amateur goalie. They came up with Fenton, and signed him to an emergency contract. Fun story:

Saw this last night and while I wouldn't want to see somebody get hurt I was rooting for something to happen that would force the Yotes to put him in the game.

Anybody know how an emergency contract works? Did he get a one-day pro-rated rate at the league minimum?

 

Fairly certain I saw something that he didn't get paid. Got a pretty nice seat and got to keep his jersey.
