As far as overtimes are concerned, I have always been a fan of what the AJHL does, or did do since they too have recently gone the shootout route.

They used to go five minutes of four-on-four, then five minutes of three-on-three. If there still was no winner then you had a tie. There were so few ties and it was damn exciting.

I have never been a fan of the shootout, especially the three-shooter shootout (I find it anti-climatic as compared to the IIHF's five-shooter shootout).

Thanks, JR. Does anyone know if there are other streaks behind Gretzky's 51 that are longer than 25? I can't seem to find that anywhere.

I think Lemieux had a 30-gamer in 92-93 (the year he came back from radiation treatment and still won the Art Ross).

Just saw Lemieux had a 46-gamer in 89-90.

    IIRC, Sundin had a 30-gamer.

Awesome, many thanks. Although as soon as I post that, Crosby scoreless through two periods tonight.

In celebration of Kane's return, Toews is out two weeks. That one hurts worse. The Blackhawks definitely have a non-zero chance of missing the playoffs. And not because of who they lost, but because of general underperformance and injuries to who they kept.

Five minutes left on the island. Tie game, BBJ pointsless.

1:14 to play in OT. Pens going on the power play.

Guess that's the end of Crosby's ... terrible mustache.
