I thought John Davidson was insane to leave broadcasting for the St. Louis Blues. Guess the jury is still out on whether or not that was a good move.

The West is gonna be a fight right to the finish, but Owen Sound didn't do itself any favours with three straight poor performances on its Eastern Ontario road swing this past weekend, losing to Kingston on Friday, barely squeaking past Belleville last night and falling apart in the last half of the second period today against Ottawa - a 2-0 lead at the 12-minute mark was a 4-3 deficit by the end of the frame.

And those four goals came on only 10 shots. Defence has been a problem lately but Huggy is absolutely right - goaltending is also not nearly up to par.

As for the Attack visiting Brampton next Sunday, I may just make the trip down!

Wrote about the Cameron thing on my blog last Monday. He is a very serious candidate -- Melnyk loves him. He may be there already if it wasn't for the Memorial Cup.

    Here's something I don't think I've ever seen before.....

The Hershey Bears have won the last two Calder Cups. And now, for some reason, they're wearing (or have recently worn; it may have been a one-time thing) as shoulder patches the logos of the teams they dispatched in those Cup finals.

That's the Manitoba Moose logo on the right shoulder. The Texas Stars logo is on the left shoulder. The Bears beat the Moose in 2009 and the Stars in 2010.

Seems odd. Anybody know why the Bears are doing this, or why the AHL is allowing it to happen? At least one guy in Winnipeg is pissed off about it.

John Davidson could always go back to broadcasting al a Greg Millen with the NFL. Not sure about McGuire, although I imagine if he failed as the Senators GM, he would still have some broadcasting connections left, especially with NBC that he wouldn't be out of work long. That's assuming of course if he ended up in Ottawa.

I think sometimes when you're around the game, though, — and I'm sure we have people here who can relate — you've sat on the sidelines so long you want to get in there and be the guy making the difference and competing to win. I'd think for guys who have been high-level athletes, that passion may even be greater.

Bruins recalled Pittsburgh native Matt Barkowski and he is set to make his NHL debut tonight in his hometown against the team he grew up rooting for. Pretty cool.

(He skated for Mt. Lebanon in case there are any western Pennsylvania folks here)

Pens up 2-0 with 3:30 left in the game and lose 4-2. Brilliant.

0-2-1 with a total of 3 goals scored since losing Sid. Pretty sure everyone wants to play the Pens right now.

Bruins have lost two games in the final minute in a week, including blowing a late 2-0 lead Saturday in Montreal (at least they got the loser point out of that one).

However, four goals in 4 minutes, two 12 seconds apart ... wow. That exorcises some demons.

And here I thought Dave Cameron went back to coaching Mississauga at the end of the world juniors. I guess he has disciples.

    *forehead slap*

I was flipping between Bruins-Pens and the BCS game, and bailed early in the third period. That's a major collapse, since the Bruins didn't get many quality shots on Fleury in the first two periods.
