We had a defenceman here for four years named Brad Albert. A great kid and a terrific junior d-man, we now will see one of our young d-man have a tough game and say, "Wish we had a guy like Albert."

Anyone else see this? I thought it was pretty neat. Hockey in 360

Just like in the early Sid Gatorade commercial--shot in our neighbourhood.

A fantastic commercial, with or without the Hansons. :D

Yeah, it's still one of my favs. It had a very short shelf life.

I'm not sure everyone got the significance of the sticks in the middle

My son's friend Raoul lives on that street. Raoul has a bit of a temper and at one point while they were shooting the commercial came out on his porch and yelled, "Get the fuck off my street" and went back inside.

That was the quintessential Canadian commercial, anyone who has ever played street hockey or shinny has picked teams by throwing sticks in a pile.

and then have one team bitch about the fairness of those teams. Sticks in the middle would have been a much better way to do this than a draft.

And then, after the first game, if it's a 10-0 blow-out, you throw the sticks in the middle again to try and come up with two more or less evenly balanced teams.

I could only watch a bit of that. Started to make me dizzy, That was cool though. I am figuring it was shot mostly during an exhibition game last season because of the lack of advertising on the boards (pre-season) and the fact they still have MacArthur with the Sabres and Poni with the Leafs (last year).
Not sure it would have much of an application during a real game though, too hard to follow the actual game play, although the goalie cam may work well for replays, but heaven forbid if the camera ever got in the way of a decisive shot. It's best use may be in some future hockey movie as a way to shoot the game action.

I just miss doing the Bill Cosby voice when he was on the ice: "Hey, hey hey! It's Braaaaaaaaaaaad Albert". Drove JR crazy. :D

Listened to the Ducks pregame show from Toronto on the radio today. Somebody singing in the background drowned out the interview the radio guys were doing.
Then, a few minutes later, they were giving other information and the music in the arena was so loud you couldn't hear the announcers.
One of the Ducks announcers finally said: Boy, it is LOUD in here. I'd like to do this job another 15 years but can't if my eardrums explode.
What's going on in Toronto? I said, WHAT'S GOING ON IN TORONTO?
