NYI has suspended Nabokov and they still own his rights for next year.

Fuck the Islanders, they are more of a disgrace than any of the Southern teams that are in trouble.

Huh? They had to do this.

A lesser punishment than having to play for that organization in this era ... from everything I've ever heard ...

Where are the Isles going to go next. Billy Smith?

they should have never have claimed him. To my larger point that franchise is an absolute joke

Why not? Nabokov said he was willing to play for any team.

Nabokov would probably be happier playing in the ECHL than the fucking joke of a franchise on Long Island.

Bullshit he did, the Islanders made no contact with him.

How does claiming him help your team? It just shows other players what a joke of a franchise you are, why would a 36 year old goalie making just above the minimum go there?

Please tell me you aren't going to argue that this franchise isn't a disaster.

NYI tried to contact him multiple times. Nabokov is not telling the truth. Newsday has that story.

    after the fact.

again, how does this make sense for the Isalnders?

This isn't even about Nabokov, the NHL should step in and do something. It's tragic what has been allowed to happen to a once great franchise.

Not after the fact. Snow called Mehan immediately and called Nabokov who hung up on him and then gave false statement to the press. This whole mess was caused by Nabokov and Meehan.

Answer my question, why take him? If you're Nabokov, why go?

They showed not interest in him till he was put on waivers.
