Good. At least this time we can be assured that Rick Nash won't cut Cam Ward's leg with his skate again. And Chara for protection, because goodness knows this game is always intense and physical ...

Talking head had a fun interview with Marc Staal. Eric Staal follows with " ... from the New York Rangers ... Henrik Lundqvist." Comedy gold.

Then took Marc Staal. I think the Blueshirt fans will be pulling for the guys in white.

    Funny. I did.

First time I saw a piece on him on CBC (or maybe another network) I thought, "This guy is a scumbag two-bit hustler"

You know it's like when a guy has the talk all down but you think, "I should count my fingers after I shake hands with him"

    Not surprised in the least.

Talking head was James Duthie of TSN. Funniest hockey host around. Keeps guys like McGuire, McKenzie and some fired NHL coach in line.

Kinda funny that Egener has been something of a goon his whole hockey career, considering his late grandfather was a well-respected family court judge.

    Double J ... perfect!

Saw someone in the Raleigh Convention Center with a Chiefs sweater. Dunno if it was Denis Lemieux or one of the Hansons. Eric Staal should have inquired about All-Star eligibility.

Go back years ago and see what I said about Barrie. This was so unbelievably predictable, he is a couple years older but I played against and with him when we were young and still have mutual friends. The fact Bettman allows people like this to own franchises is reason enough to fire him. Due diligence Gary, try it, it might save you in the end

I hadn't seen the piece on him, honestly I haven't heard much on him or had dealings with him, thankfully. So I'll have to defer to you and JC about his actual character. What made this no surprise for me nd threw up the red flags was the lack of anything really tangible to his name that you could look at and understand how he could be a part owner of a hockey team.

One question I do have is if Len Barrie's actions will affect his son's, Tyson, future in the NHL. Tyson is currently playing with the Kelowna Rockets and is a Colorado prospect I believe.

So is anyone jacked for the skills competition tonight?

While my excitement is minimal, it is traditionally the best part of the all-star weekend.

Will watch but certainly not 'jacked'

If I watch, it will be because of Jeff Skinner and because it's in Raleigh. Might have considered making a weekend of it there under different circumstances ...
