Mebbe the Canucks pick up Kaberle for Hodgson to replace Edler.

Edler should be back for the playoffs and Salo is almost ready to return. There is no need for the Canucks to do much at this point since they lead there division by 15 points.

Also the Canucks are right up against the cap, so for them to add a big ticket guy they have to be sending a big ticket back the other way. If they do anything they likely do something depth wise.

Here is the current cap situation for every team in the league moving forward, some interesting teams with cap space that may actually take advantage of it as the deadline approaches in the next four weeks.

Edler is on LTI which gives the Canucks room to bring back Salo. Once the playoffs sart the cap doesn't come into play

Puck Daddy got this one right. And, since I originally bagged on the formula of picking All-Star teams, I will eat crow. Right now. Lotta fun.

ESPN's Scott Burnside admitted that the media tends to get cynical about All-Star Weekend, that there's really nothing wrong with enjoying such an event.

Well ... there was a few of us in the U.S. who managed to tweak to aluminum foil on our antennas just enough to see what was happening.

    Devils apparently for sale.

Wonder how much their owner was motivated by the sabres owner cashing in big on his sale.

Sad day for me. The Oilers waive the great Stortilini. I am now going to have to retire my avatar :(

Good luck Stortini, whether you end up in Oklahoma or on another team. I am betting OKC.
Always willing to drop the gloves, only sometimes victorious.

Terrific story by Elliotte on Ray Emery's rehabilitation (in the broadest sense of the word). I hope he lands a job somewhere. It sounds like he's matured a lot and deserves another chance. And he's the best goalie fighter in the league.

When it comes to Ray Emery, it's hard to separate fact from fiction. Some of the rumours are so incredible, they seem impossible. (For whatever reason, Ottawa is a hotbed for crazy stories about hockey players. If even 25 per cent of them were true, there would be a Dead Sea in Eastern Ontario.) For example, I once heard Emery spent $50,000 on a Halloween party.

"It was for the team," he said.

    So that one is true?

"Yes," smiling at the memory. "It was a great party."

Interesting blog post by Katie Carrera at the Post today, mostly used to generate discussion among fans:

I laughed out loud at the first comment.

Seems to be lots of sentiment for offing Boudreau in D.C. .... I'm not sure that's the answer. Caps desperately need a second-line center.
