And in case you missed it, Cody's goal

Classic Hodgson. Scored dozens of those in junior from there.

And Sam Mills' Whalercanes are in Toronto tonight.

The Versus guys and the folks on the NHL Network called DiPietro out, saying he instigated things by needlessly getting involved with Cooke.

At the same time, if it was anybody else, they'd probably have found a way not to bump DiPietro ... even if he was trying to instigate contact.

    Really? A dumbass?

Something tells me Johnson and the rest of the team had a hell of a lot more fun with his one-punch KO of DiPietro than they would have if he'd have stayed in his crease for 16 more seconds.

Unless he's got a million-dollar shutout clause in his contract that he ends up missing by one game, I'm not sure why he'd be a dumbass for costing himself a shutout.

I'm pretty sure he'd take the one punch than a shutout, who wouldn't?

Thirty penalty minutes in the first 4 seconds of the Stars-Bruins game tonight (three fights in a row). Then Andrew Raycroft gets pulled 2 minutes into the game for allowing two goals on two shots. Now another fight with Andrew Ference.

This is going to be a fun game.

Leafs and Whalercanes game is tedious beyond belief. Both Maurice & Wilson are more interested in line match-ups than, you know, scoring.

Pierre has a hard-on tonight for the Red Deer Rebels.

Aaron Ward is on the TSN panel along with Mike Peca.

In junior action, I am watching a possible preview of the OHL final between Mississauga and Windsor. Real playoff-type intensity, four fights in the first period, tied 1-1.

Mo is always tinkering with lines, though I know he enjoys it not being the story in Raleigh that it seems to become in Toronto.

And the Leafs frustrated the Whalercanes into a shutout.

The turning point in the game was that Leafs 5 on 3 PK. Tim Brent blocked three shots and hobbled off the ice to a huge ovation and kudos from his teammates.

Still, mostly a boring fucking game but hey, the Leafs are On the Road to the Playoffs. :)

Any rumors of the parade being scheduled on Yonge Street? If so, Sxy, IJAG, Wicked and some other dude are going to have to make another road trip. :)

Yup. Just make sure you don't cross on the "Don't Walk" sign.
See you at the Irish Embassy!

Well it was almost uncanny how many ex-Rebels were in the lineup between the two teams. Was working so I didn't watch the game and thus didn't have to put up with McGuire.

Two from Carolina: Brandon Sutter and Cam Ward -- although Brett Sutter is another Canes Rebel not in the lineup (is he still up with the club or a scratch?)

Four with Toronto -- Reimer, Armstrong, Versteeg, Phaneuf.

For the most part all six play a pretty big part with their teams.
