Matt Cooke does it again, this time on Fedor Tyutin of the Blue Jackets

Matt Cooke is a gutless puke and if Colin Campbell has any balls, he'll throw the book at him.

Dan Bylsma says the defenseman Cooke hits looked Cooke in the eyes and knew the hit was coming? Bull fucking shit. Someone is going to go Todd Bertuzzi on Cooke here really soon. He's fucking reckless anymore.

Maybe someone can answer this for me, but with TV going digital I thought you needed cable or satellite of some form to even get TV nowadays, didn't think bunny ears and an antenna on the roof would cut it anymore.

Well you see Tyutin has a set of eyes in the back of his head, so of course he looked Cooke in the eye . . .

Cooke is just lucky he didn't paralyze Tyutin.

Looked an awful lot like the knee-to-knee hit Ovechkin put on Gonchar a couple years ago, which essentially sidelines Gonchar a week during that playoff series.

Going on past precedent, no suspension for Cooke for tonight's hit given how Tyutin got up and skated away without injury. Unless the NHL wants to change the rules as they go or say they're punishing him for past actions, too.

I love the "well he did it to Gonchar two-years-ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" defense coming from Penguins fans. And I loved how when challenged to fight, Cooke backed off like a little bitch. And Ovechkin has been suspended, and after a while even Boudreau stopped defending him when it comes to cheap shots. Why is Bylsma unwilling to do the same?

Last night's hit was malicious and reckless. It shouldn't take an injury to lead to a suspension. The NHL needs to punish him before someone decides it's time for vigilante justice on the ice.

Perhaps down the road but I think even a twisted coat hanger can still get you reception for non-cable channels. I may be wrong.

    1. It's not a defense, it's simply calling it what it looked like. And on that hit, even though Gonchar sat out two or three games and wasn't completely healthy when he did return to the ice, Ovechkin didn't draw a suspension.

    2. Preaching to the choir, because it shouldn't take an injury to lead to a suspension. But the NHL needs to be consistent on its punishment. If Steckel's elbow to Sidney Crosby's head didn't deserve a fine or suspension, I don't see how what Cooke did last night merits one.

    3. Talking about how "Cooke backed off like a little bitch" when challenged to fight is funny given Ovechkin how he needs Matt Bradley to race off the bench to fight his fights.

Oz, you've become a joke in the defense of your teams. Matt Cooke is the biggest piece of shit in the league and of course his track record will be used in determining a suspension. the NHL has always treated repeat offenders tougher. How the hell can you defend this piece of shit?

Comparing Ovechkin and Cooke is a complete joke, just fanboy bullshit.

Comparing Ovechkin and Cooke would be a complete joke, I agree, because Cooke absolutely, positively plays dirty. But I didn't compare the two as dirty players, I compared two different plays that looked remarkably similar in nature.
