And he needs to be suspended. Colin Campbell needs to do something if he doesn't want someone taking matters into his own hands, especially since Cooke won't drop the gloves. Roenick - can't use the JR term here (heh heh) - is correct.

Speaking of possible suspensions, the Devils' Anton Volchenkov needs to face some discipline after blatantly elbowing the Whalercanes' Zach Boychuk in Tuesday night's game. Volchenkov raised his elbow as Boychuk neared ... not Cooke-level dirty, but a two-minute minor isn't going to instill the discipline needed for infractions of this nature.

4 game suspension for Cooke, according to the Twitter.

Beauchemin going back to Anaheim. Leafs getting RW Joffrey Lupul, D Jake Gardiner and a conditional 2013 draft pick.

After Daniel Paille got four, Cooke and his defenders have absolutely no right to complain about four. Tyutin luckily had enough space to turn his shoulder into the glass and spare himself the brunt (and intention) of that hit. Otherwise, he's getting scraped off the ice in pieces like Patrice Bergeron did in '07 after getting run by Randy Jones on a similar hit (he wasn't the same player for about two years after that hit).
Cooke's been on a tear over the past week, between this and the DiPietro and Ovechkin incidents. I really think DiPietro getting clocked by Brent Johnson made Cooke cocky enough to think he could get away with anything.

WTF would Johnson shit kicking Dipietro have to with Cooke thinking anything? Cooke has been a POS his whole career, this didn't just start.

Cooke's dirty, but the DiPietro incident wasn't his doing. DiPietro came out and clothes-lined Cooke, which started all that. That was Johnson defending a cheap shot against one of his teammates. He probably wouldn't have done that had Cooke instigated something.

Although I do agree that Dipeitro initiated contact it was far from a clothesline. You call a shoulder a clothesline? You're getting into Baghdad Bob territory.

It was a little more than a shoulder, he raised his stick hand and tried to give him a solid shot. If it were just a shoulder, DiPietro wouldn't have needed to raise his left arm.

Poor Pussy Cooke, it was more of a grazing than anything. I'm sure he deserved worse for something he had done in the past

Absolutely. DiPietro only did what most everyone in the NHL has wanted to do for years.

like usual Dipietro failed as he hardly touched him. He should have blockered him in the mouth.

This just doesn't make sense. I mean how can Lupul be involved in a trade not involving Pronger? It's just not right.

Good trade for Anaheim, I don't know much about Gardiner, but I like this deal for the Ducks. Beauchemin helps fill out their blue line and Lupul is frustratingly inconsistent but will give the Leafs offence a bit of a boost when he's on his game. What is the conditional pick?
