You *do* have a point, I suppose.

It's almost comical the line combinations the Pens were throwing out there by the time the third period rolled around. Top line was Jordan Staal and two guys that have combined to play something like six NHL games.

Caps couldn't dream of scoring eight goals in two weeks right now, much less two periods.

And it's not eight, I'll have you know.

    It's nine.

297 penalty minutes in Uniondale. Godard came off the bench so he will be out for next ten games.

    Penguins-Islanders by the numbers ...

    10 -- Ejections
    15 -- Fighting majors
    20 -- Misconducts
    65 -- Total penalties
    346 -- Penalty minutes

Also, aside from Godard maybe getting a 10-game suspension, call-up Eric Tangradi showed signs of concussion-like symptoms after Trevor Gillies threw an elbow. And the hits just keep on coming.

Hockey brawls are awesome. I will drop the gloves with anyone who disagrees.

Pens finished the game with TWO players on the bench and four on the ice. It was quite a sight watching the action go through the neutral zone and seeing literally more coaches than players on the bench.

But I think my favorite part was with about three minutes left in the game, the Islanders --who only had maybe 6 or 7 guys on their bench -- were whistled for a too many men penalty. Too many men. With no more than a dozen skaters total. I loved the irony in that one.

And Brent Johnson with his second fighting major in a week!

Great start to today for the Penguins, who practiced in Central Park ...

Apparently, the commissioner is going to be personally involved in the discipline hearing for the Pens-Islanders. Anyone know if that's happened in recent memory? I can't think of any such occurrence.
