According to Darren Dreger: "Not official yet, but BOS trading Wheeler and Stuart to ATL for Peverley and Valabik. Pending trade call."

EDIT: James Mirtle has just tweeted that the Boston-Thrashers deal is official.

Disagree. Craig Anderson was a really nice find for the Avs. Wonder what went wrong? Yes, he's been hurt this season, but he was miles better than Peter Budaj.

"Null for void" might also be interpreted as "One pending UFA goalie on a go-nowhere team for another pending UFA goalie on a go-nowhere team".

Used to watch Budaj on our local cable channel when he played for St. Mike's. Could never figure out how he made it to the NHL

Eerily quite in all of this is the Oilers. Wonder if they are waiting for teams to get even more desperate as the deadline approaches. The risk there is they may miss the boat altogether. Still would like to see them do something, even depth wise, just to show Tambellini is awake.

Terrible loss for Hawks, Ducks need a goalie ASAP.

Might be more helpful to give the WHOLE trade, rather than just one player.

For unsigned defensive prospect Brock Beukeboom (son of Jeff) and a third round pick in 2011. Beukeboom was a third round pick in this past draft and is playing for Sault Ste. Marie in the OHL

The St. Louis Blues made their second major deal in less than 24 hours when they dealt former No. 1 overall pick Erik Johnson to Colorado early Saturday.

Hours after sending captain Eric Brewer to Tampa Bay for junior defenseman Brock Beukeboom and a draft pick, the Blues dealt Johnson, also a defenseman, to the Avs along with forward Jay McClement and a first-round pick for rookie defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk, third-year forward Chris Stewart and a second-round pick.

The draft picks will be used in the 2011 Entry Draft unless the Blues have a top-10 selection, in which case St. Louis can opt to transfer its 2012 first-rounder instead. If that happens, the Avs will send their second-round pick to St. Louis in 2012 instead of 2011.

Pretty great day for the Bruins, at first glance. They just got a little faster and more mobile, and Nathan Horton finally remembered how to stick one in the back of the net. I have no real beef with Blake Wheeler, other than his spotty productiveness, but they got an element of jump that he lacks, with Peverley. Kaberle fills a hole that was left by Wideman.
