And the Dodgers win, 13-3, by raking the d'Backs pathetic pen after Haren gives up 4 runs and 10 hits in 6 1/3.

Their pen is a joke, but Haren is also struggling despite racking up big strikeout numbers so far this season. Not a good sign from a pitcher who normally starts fast and fades late.

You wouldn't like Mike Sweeney when he's angry... just ask Jeff Weaver

Gee, of course the Phillies are going to be cooperative. They're getting three extra games in front of a home crowd.

Apparently LaRue had some sort of ongoing feud with Geoff Baker. Or grudge, or something like that.

I don't really know LaRue but Geoff has always impressed me with the way he goes about his work dating back to his Toronto days. He's a good guy.

From a player's standpoint, saying something like that anonymously is about as chickenshit as it gets. Saying something like that about someone of Griffey's stature is even worse. I don't get it.

I'm surprised this hasn't been put up here yet...

Mariners players aren't talking to the newspaper that broke the story about Griffey, Jr., sleeping in the clubhouse.

I don't know why anyone would have any reason to make up such a thing. Between this, Bradley and Eric Byrnes riding his bike out of the stadium before being waived, it's made the M's much more interesting than they are on the field.

Here's proof of some of the sniping (if one-way). You'll notice the post in question was scythed from LaRue's blog.

Unfortunately, these days Baker seems to spend most of his time picking fights with local blogs and commentors on his own blog, self promoting, voraciously defending illogical positions and writing fictional "fly on the wall" pieces.

Edit: I should add that I think Baker has done a great job of keeping himself relevent and on top of new media advances like video, chats and facebook and twitter. I just disagree with the way he chooses to employ them.

Don't know Baker, obviously, but I believe he wrote that ridiculous "White Jays" story in the Star during his Toronto days.

Sounds like you've got some kind of grudge against Geoff, but I don't see you supporting it with anything.
