You knew Capps' run had to end sometime, but against the stinkin' Orioles? Thankfully, Willingham came to play.

You can't expect him to contain Julio Lugo.

    Dear Pirates,
Oh well. You can't save them all. He wasn't quite as sharp today.
You still can't have him back.
    F Julio Lugo.
    Love,
    The Nats

ps - HAMMER time. I think the Nats have only lost one game where there's been a "blown" save

As if Lugo didn't piss me off enough yesterday, what with his weak ass hit and then kicking dirt on Willingham after the home run.
How 'bout this? From 2003. What a sweetie:

Astros shortstop Julio Lugo was arrested and charged with hitting his wife in the face and slamming her head on a car hood before a game.

Lugo was freed on $50,000 bond Thursday after spending the night in jail. She was treated for minor injuries at a hospital and released.

Mabel Lugo said she was attacked by her husband Wednesday afternoon before Houston's home loss to the Atlanta Braves, Houston police spokeswoman Silvia Trevino said Thursday.

Astros spokesman Warren Miller said the team was trying to gather all the facts.

The 27-year-old infielder was arrested at Minute Maid Park after the 11-1 loss Wednesday …

I'd never even heard of Julio Lugo until yesterday. Sounds like a class guy.

Rumors abound that Stephen Strasburg will start June 4 for the Nats. Tickets are already going fast.

    Plenty of tickets left.

Strasburg is scheduled to go tonight, which would put him in rotation to go on June 3, an off day for the Nats. June 4 at home against Cincinnati seems right for the long overdue MLB debut of the next great one.

It wouold be intersting if he were matched against Mike Leake, 8th pick in the Strasburg draft, who already has 8 starts, 52 2/3 innings and four wins (2.91 ERA) and has been a big reason the Reds are near first place ...

    Texas Rangers: Bankrupt.

The shocking thing is, they still owe A-Rod $25 million from six years ago. In fact, they still owe Mickey Tettleton and Mark McLemore hundreds of thousands of dollars — from the 1990s.

This is only now coming to light in court papers. It's only the tip of the iceberg of profoundly inept management from the likes of Tom Hicks and John Hart.

The only good news is that hopefully the sale of the franchise will now be expedited and we can boot Hicks' ass out the door.
