When Mike Francesa comes off as more rational than you in a debate, you know you've gone 'round the bend ...

Rangers file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection:

Team still owes A-Rod nearly $25 million. They also owe Mickey Tettleton $1.4 million and Mark McLemore over $900K. Unless it's deferred compensation, how can a ballclub still owe these guys money all those years ago?

Also don't forget, you're assuming that the 10 starts would all happen at home. I'd highly doubt the Nats would only pitch him at home. Even assuming that the Nats fudge with the rotation a little and give him six starts at home, that's $9.6 million, not $16 million.

Having spent all year hitting with a wood bat (though the 6-for-6 was in a district tournament with aluminum), he now goes to a national tournament where he'll get to play with aluminum at about 4,700 feet, in a ballpark with a 302-foot left-field fence. Things could get silly.

Your translator is defective. Next time try thinking before you post. The number of posts riddled with flawed logic that spnited has contributed to this topic is in danger of catching up with his total of rants against Aaron Heilman.

Wow, I always knew Steve Phillips was an idiot but that tops everything.

Meanwhile, I don't understand the reports of the Nats' interest in Oswalt, who is owed something like $31 mill this season and next with a $16 mill option for 2012.

So saving money by keeping Strasburg down makes no sense, but spending money on Oswalt in an attempt to win now also makes no sense? Huh?

If you're keeping Strasburg down to save money SEVEN FUCKING YEARS FROM NOW, you can't justify spending $30 mill + on a 32-year-old. If they cared about winning now, they'd have had Strasburg in the rotation from Day 1.
Please tell me you're not as stupid as that post makes you seem.

The only thing I don't get: In the story, Kilgore says ...

While he makes the case for the money, I never see what the deal is with the extra year.

Actually, Guillen hasn't come off the DL yet. He's on a rehab assignment.

Plans are for him to play second when he is activated.

Sizemore wasn't hitting enough and was platooning with Santiago, so they sent him down to get some every day at bats.
