Not unless they're willing to pay $4 mill, per annum.

Of course, God knows, Knight has the money.

I dunno, you'd be signing on to brand new arena to recruit to and an athletic department that is willing to spend money.

And you only need to recruit one or two difference makers a year. It's not like you need to sign 25.

And if your Donovan, you're getting out from under the Pearl/Calipari shadow that will be dominant in the next few years to come.

Now that the local AAU coaches have been quoted as saying (essentially) that you can't win at St. John's without cheating, how are they going to get anybody of repute? Anybody who takes the job will have to spend his introductory press conference balancing a rhetorical tightrope: explaining how much he respects the slimy AAU crowd while declaring his respect for NCAA rules.

If I was interested in the UO job I'd wait for it to open up again in three years or so. The school has a habit of getting rid of guys who are relatively successful, replacing them with a "name" coach who will get them "to the next level" only to see that coach bolt to a big time basketball school if they have any immediate success.

But you are moving to another coast, trying to figure out another league and starting over and doing so with - if they are paying you 4 mil - a lot of unrealistic expectations on your shoulders.

St. John's received permission from Ga Tech and talked to Hewitt pn Tuesday.
Tom Pecora has an interview Wednesday at Fordham, which also wants to schedule an interview with Mike Rice.
Seton will interview the Vermont coach Mike Lonegan on Wednesday and also hopes to talk to McCaffrey this week.

Johnny Jones at North Texas falls in this group. Four consecutive 20-win seasons and two NCAA appearances in that span. He's in the running for the Auburn job.

  9. Mike Rice Sr. has been the Trail Blazers' announcer for the last 20 years. Would Rice Jr. be considered for the Oregon job?

Pecora to Fordham for $705K, according to NY Post.

Seton also expected to pay between $700-750K looking at Lonegan, Rice and McCaffrey.

Donohue might be out of the picture because Cornell's Sweet 16 run has him occupied and all these schools are looking to move fast.

And BYH weeps. Why? I'm still not sure, but rest assured the tears are falling. :)

Hell of a nice payday for TP, though.

Wow. Is Fordham really a better job than he has now?
