Has there been any movement in the DePaul search? It sounds like they don't know what the hell they're doing or who they want.

For a team that's rarely seeded high than a 7 or 8, Few's NCAA record (12-11) is very reasonable.

Agree with this. Few has no reason to leave a great situation in Spokane for a horrible mess (complete with Nike meddling) in Oregon, no matter what they're paying.

Good for him to say "no, thanks."

ESPN reported Oregon's willing to offer Izzo a contract that makes him highest paid coach.

Oregon could offer him the moon, I still see no way Izzo is stupid enough to go. Guess it wouldn't hurt to at least try though.

Actually it does hurt to try.
    Makes your school look foolish.
Wastes time that could be spent on a coach you can get.
Makes the coach you do hire feel like a third choice -- and can raise his price if he's not too desperate to move.
Look how much more cash Sean Miller wound up with because they mangled the Arizona search last spring.

The Ducks will end up paying someone like Bruce Weber at Illinois or Kevin Stallings at Vanderbilt $2 mil a year.

I'm actually in the part of society that believe Stallings would be perfect. Dude could do a lot w/o all the academic restrictions at a place like Oregon. He's not a bad coach. If nothing else, give him four years in Eugene. What's he gonna cost them, at most? They probably go to the tourney three times.

    Academic restrictions...at Oregon?

Was I watching the same Duck football team this year as you? Or is it just hoops?
