For those wondering, the 'C' in 'NASCAR' doesn't stand for credibility. Never has, never will. Clint Bowyer is the latest to learn that.

    Bud Moore? Really?

Also, what happened to Brian France's hair?

I don't have a problem with Bud Moore. Most of the people who think NASCAR started with Tom Cruise have no idea of the history of the sport.

Pearson, Allison, Bud Moore, Ned Jarrett and Lee Petty ... I think all are deserving, but it's tough DW and Cale didn't make it.

Larry Woody, who I know and like so no knock on him, and some others keep saying "throw open the doors, put in 25-30 each year" but that's nuts. If you do, the Hall of Fame becomes the Hall of Pretty Good by about the third year. I wouldn't have minded seeing maybe 10 each of the first couple of years to jump start it, but if you put everyone that is deserving all at once, you're either letting in Jody Ridley or not having a ceremony annually, which puts it out of people's minds.

If you're putting an owner/ownership group in, and it's the first one, it's gotta be the Wood Brothers. I'm not willing to listen to any argument to the contrary. :D

I think if you put Allison in this year, you've got to put Cale in. Pearson, Allison, Cale, Petty and the Wood Brothers.

Which is no slam on Ned Jarrett, whom I adore and who made it, I'm assuming, more for his work in media and in publicizing the sport than for anything on track. I'm glad he got in before DW.

Ned Jarrett won 50 races and two titles in a 10-year career. He has the chops to go in as a driver alone, but I think he went in on a package deal.

I think the Wood Brothers are high picks and should go in as a singular selection ... the same with John Holman and Ralph Moody.

Hey - Jody Ridley won a race. In, I believe, Junie Donlavey's car. That alone ought to get him in.

I just saw the voting percentages. David Pearson received 94% of the vote. What that tells me is that 6% of the voters have no business being part of this process. Are you completely friggin kidding me? Anyone, ANYONE, who didn't vote for Pearson - and I hope they read this board - is a complete and utter fucking moron. MORON.

Don't look at Petty's win total. Look at Pearson's winning percentage. He won 105 races in 574 starts. Pearson only ran three complete schedules, and he won the championship all three years.

If there is any of those 6% that didn't vote for Pearson who are hard card holders, they should have their credentials revoked immediately because obviously they know nothing about the sport.

"We can't vote him in unanimously - Ty Cobb and Babe Ruth weren't unanimous selections!!" ::) :D

I was thinking about Cobb and Ruth but was too agitated to go look for their percentages. Same deal, different Hall. Idiots.

The 10 people in the hall so far deserve to be in the hall at some point, probably all by the end of the third year or fourth year at latest. But Bud Moore in before Cale and DW? Really? Maybe voters have had it with the boogity x3 nonsense, but that doesn't explain Cale getting in. For crying out loud, he appeared on "The Dukes of Hazzard" when it was hugely popular!
No disrespect at all towards Bud Moore, a great guy who deserves to be in any hall of fame simply because of his military service, but I would pick Cale over Bud just as I would pick Pearson over Bill France Jr.
