Jim Utter has learned that Danica will run the Nationwide Series race at Daytona.

    Was there any doubt?

  2. I think there was... If she stunk up the ARCA race she wouldn't have run.

You don't want to know what one of my colleagues calls him. Happens when you're blown off for a scheduled interview.

Was that the Jill George wreck you're talking about? I'd heard she flipped so I looked it up, video didn't catch much besides a rookie panicking seeing a car slide into the wall, then spin and flip herself by clipping the apron of the track. I was interested because I've done stories on George before. My last shop was her hometown paper.

Trying again: Here's a side of Jeff Gordon you never expected to see.

I walked the souvenir hauler row at Indy last year and had a good long look at that Realtree trailer. Pretty funny stuff.

In their own words, because I'm still in shock:
RT @jeff_gluck: Danica's media availability done. An unnamed reporter gave her one of the roses Ambrose was distributing earlier. NO JOKE. Real professional
RT @jim_utter: The reporter was Bruce Martin. #NASCAR
RT @FO_ThomasPope: @jim_utter surprised he didn't get tazed for getting that close to her.
Jesus H. Tapdancing Christ.
RT @jeff_gluck: Pic: The unnamed person's colleagues did not appreciate the unprofessionalism. So they put roses on his comp. http://tweetphoto.com/11062343
RT @SBPopOffValve: @jeff_gluck The big question: Did she accept his invitation to the prom???
ZING!

That has all the appeal of Mike Dukakis riding in a tank.

Having seen the reporter in question in action several times, I can't say I'm the least bit surprised.

Got a feeling Hamlin will spin Brad out in the draft when he gets a run on him on one of the straightaways. Hamlin already has a built in excuse to avoid a penalty, thanks to Little E over the radio in practice about Hamlin: "doesn't know how to bump draft."

DIS boss Robin Braig has been running around insisting they'll get the truck race in tonight, no matter how late the start, and that they can dry the track in three hours.

So I figure, based on the forecast, that we'll get a green flag right around 3 a.m.
