Watched the second twin qualifier Thursday. Saw Junior start on the pole and within a few laps, inexplicably wind up about 21st. When will the Jr. sycophants realize one thing: he's not very good. Take away the last name and he's David Blaney.

Dave Blaney now wants to kick your ass for insulting his ability.

You may be right, but Martin finished around the same spot in the other twin race. Since both were locked on the front row, regardless of yesterday's race (unless they wrecked), I have to believe both drivers wanted to save their equipment and starting spot. Still, not saying you're wrong, though.

Was in the top 5 at lap 20 and didn't need to complete the race because his starting position is locked in. After the incident with the 83 hitting the 88 and the 88's resulting long pit stop to fix the fenders, his crew chief told him to stay outside the draft and out of trouble for the rest of the day yesterday.

If you're starting on the front row in the 500, your position's locked in. Why bother running the whole qualifying race? There was a time not that long ago when the front-row cars typically said "Fuck it" and went to the garage early.

Well, let's see what good that outside first row position does for Junior come 2:30 or so Sunday.

There should be some kind of prop bet in Vegas on who finishes higher, Junior in the 500 or Danica in the N'wide race (driving a JR car).

Truck race postponed until tomorrow night. Last-minute rain shower drenched the track and they'd have needed 4 hours to dry it.

MRN Radio reporters say Danica Patrick's car sounds odd and may be running on as many cylinders as her car number (7).

Seems Mike Helton thinks more crashes are necessary to lift sagging ratings:

Well, he's had plenty of 'em. Every race this week has been like the ARCA race, seems like.

I'm picking Harvick in my fantasy league. You can't use the same driver twice during the year, so it would be a good time to burn someone like Ragan or something, since anything can happen at Daytona, but whatevs. Good feeling about Harvick.
