And just when you think this FA period couldn't be more absurd.

A one-hour special? Jesus ... he better not sign with Chicago, because I'm not sure if the town has room for an ego that huge.

A whole big hype-fest, with the usual ESPN psychoanalysis.

Frankly, I wish something huge breaking-news-wise would break right before his stupid little ego-show. Nothing tragic. Just something like aliens found on Mars or Tiger admits using steroids or something like that.

This is fucking bullshit. I understand if they want to give commercial proceeds to the Boys & Girls Club of America, but what the fuck? LeBron's handlers approaching ESPN about making this an hour spectacular?

I'm not watching. Jordan would have never stooped to this level.

Is this a new low for ESPN or just par for the course?

Whatever the case, if he does go on TV and just says a huge fuck you to Cleveland, I wouldn't be upset. [/Pittsburgh fanboi]

When Jordan returned to the NBA after his first retirement, he had three rings and only needed two words--'I'm back'-- to break the news.

How many words should you need if you've never won anything?

This is an utter joke. Did ESPN outbid TNT for the rights to this sham, just like they greased the wheels to keep the Big 12 alive?

Will the College GameDay crew host this crap and drag it out like they do the Heisman Trophy show? Will there be a pre-press conference show? A countdown clock on the WWL all day Thursday? Hell, why stop there? Start it now in the lower right corner! "COUNTDOWN TO LEBRON'S DECISION (live on ESPN, 9 p.m. ET, and nowhere else because we're the alleged WWL)." A backstage interview with "The King (of not winning titles)" to try to get "insight" into his decision? Will Rachel Nichols be camping on the lawn and providing "updates" every 15 minutes?

Frankly, I'm surprised we don't have a "LeBron Live" show (as oppose to "NBA Live" and all the other "Live" garbage). Will Chris Berman be hosting with Boo-Yah Scott and the two of them hyperventilating waiting for the decision, while another credible news outlet reports the news of where he signed first, then the WWL taking full credit after it's been "confirmed by ESPN's (insert names of bogus experts)."

I mean, all of the adult "journalists" are in South Africa for the World Cup, so there's not much left, if anyone, responsible to bring this home. This whole thing has been a complete fabrication of ESPN's making from the beginning. Feel free to win a championship so you can become somewhat relevant.

This move by James has me half-convinced he'll NEVER win a title. Ego's OK, in fact, necessary for a great athlete. But an hour-long prime time special? That's ego without its necessary flip side, the part that demands the self live up to its inflated sense of importance. James has a teenage crush on himself, that's all.

If he goes to Chicago, I am going to love the "He couldn't hold Michael's jock" talk that will continue even if he wins a title every year he's there.

I wonder if ESPN is going to cut to Lebron bar parties in various cities showing fans celebrating or mourning.

Once again this speaks volumes about the human condition.
