Lots of what-ifs in your argument there, Stoney.

Also, if you had page 12 in the "When will this evolve into a Kobe vs. LeBron argument" pool, you're a winner!

There are no "what ifs" about the fact that Kobe went 34-48, 45-37 and 42-40 during the three year period when he had neither Shaq nor Gasol by his side. And those years where the absolute peak of Kobe's career, talentwise.

Don't wanna take this thread on a Kobe jack, but the notion that Kobe is still a better player than Lebron is simply wrong, and I sure as hell am no Lebron fan.

Definitely a what-if by saying LeBron would have won a few titles with Kobe's supporting cast.

But wait, I think YOU'RE wrong by saying LeBron > Kobe. We can't both be wrong, can we? OMG!!!!!

    Anyway....

What is always taken for granted with both Kobe and Michael is the effect that Phil Jackson had in creating a system for them to shine in.

I agree. No excuses for this year. He sucked in those last three games and the loss was on him. The year before he averaged 39-8-8 and they lost so I can see your beef there.
If he leaves fpr Miami, though, he's forever known as LePippen or if they don't win, LeHornacek.

Very true Boom. It helps that Kobe has had the best coach in the league and LeBron had Mike Brown.

Well it's not been on the tip of your tongue in the Kobe / Lebron debate.

So? That debate has been going on for 8 seconds. Doesn't mean I -- or any rational basketball fan -- takes Jackson for granted. That'd be dumb.
