LeBron James should have hired Scott Boras as his agent. Then this would go all the way to tip-off next year, and LeBron would rival Bill Gates in wealth.

Again, in the NBA, there's a cap to how much they can make. The superstars who get max deals don't even need agents for the basketball side of things.

I don't know what the fuss is about him waiting a week to think this over and select an employer. It seems like a lot of people think he needs to know his place, for some reason. It's simple supply and demand. He's in short supply and the demand for his services are very high. I don't understand the resentfulness about him holding the cards here instead of the owners and GMs.

A team won a lottery seven years ago to draft him. Whoop dee doo. Every other team would have done the same exact thing had the ball popped their way. But for some reason he owes Cleveland something? Why? Now he gets to pick where he wants to work - just like the rest of us.

He would still end up with the same money with the cap.

Except in Cleveland's case it's legitimate.

Boston had an NBA team that had won more championships than any franchise in any sport, a football team that was in the midst of a dynasty, and a baseball team that had one of the two or three highest payrolls in it's non-capped league every single year, yet their fans still could not stop whining and bleating about being "cursed" and what burden it was to be a Boston sports fan. Now that truly was insufferable.

But Cleveland's got a real gripe. God does hate Cleveland sports. In fact, I think he just plain hates Cleveland.

I have no idea why I forgot about the salary cap. My bad.

No big deal. I admire your honesty.

Cleveland does have a real gripe. They finally get a bonafide superstar, a homegrown one and while it would be one thing to lose him to NYC or Chicago, the Cavs are going to lose him to Miami and get nothing in return.

Now, the best they can do is hope they win Harrison Barnes in next year's lottery.

    I enjoyed this line:

It's like college signing day crossed with JFK's assassination.

Bosh may not be Kobe or Wade but he was 24 and 11 last year and is one of the best at staying out of foul trouble. He's about as good as Garnett used to be, who fits a very similar description to this before going to Boston. He's very, very good. What did surprise me though is how little publicity Boozer got.

The standards for "Superstar" dropped to these levels about 35 years ago with this SI cover:
