You know, I realize it could never have happened, but how funny would it have been if the rest of the league colluded to not allow Miami to dump Beasley?

Gilbert's letter sheds new light on Lebron's decision.

I'm not quite sure how James is Pippen, unless some of you thought Pippen was the better player in his duo?

Terrible comparison. Boston wouldn't have done shit if they didn't have young, cheap players (Rondo and Perkins) already signed and other good role players (Posey and Powe). The Heat will have nothing but minimum contracts and a few second round picks to get that type of production.

I don't think LeBron is Pippen. I don't think there's any comparable situation to this one. It's as if Magic Johnson (LeBron) joined a team that had Clyde Drexler (Wade) already on it.

And Lane Kiffin thought Al Davis was mean to him.

In Gilbert's defense, it sure as hell did look like Lebron just plain quit in Game 5 of that Celt series. Weirdest damn non-performance you'll ever see.

Do you really think Cleveland ever has a chance of luring a franchise player in free agency anyways?

That's why LeBron leaving is the death of that franchise. Because he was a local, it was their only chance to ever have a HOF player stick with them.

Their only other shot at every winning a title is drafting a great player and winning the title within his first five years of being in Cleveland. Odds aren't good on that one.

Dan Gilbert: We need you. Hell, I need you. I'm a mess without you. I miss you so damn much. I miss being with you, I miss being near you. I miss your laugh. I miss your scent; I miss your musk. When this all gets sorted out, I think you and me should get an apartment together.
Everybody else: Take it easy, Dan. Why don't you sit this next one out, stop talking for a while.
