Brutal. Should have won Game 2 despite the loss of Magic. Had a chance to win at the end. And just crumbled late at the Forum.

Gilbert's just pissed because the franchise value dropped and his future earnings dropped exponentially. If LeBron played basketball like Shawn Bradley, would he be "betraying" him by not offering him a contract? Of course not. Teams have no loyalty to players in this day and age, so why should players have loyalty to their teams?

He also might be a little drunk.

That whole letter turns into a plea of "Be mad at him, not me, and for god's sake don't stop coming to games or spending your money in a way that eventually makes it back into my pocket. Don't blame us for not putting together enough pieces around James to make him feel like we had a legitimate shot. Blame him for wanting to be a winner!"

This whole circus was a narcissistic ego-stroking party by James, but it doesn't mean he made a bad decision to leave.

You don't think Eddy Curry should start at center?

Not like his brother is coaching the opposition. No conflict whatsoever.

Maybe it was just me, but I got the vibe that JVG was holding back a bit and playing nice during the phone interview, despite calling a few things like he saw them.

Could someone replay what JVG was calling as he saw 'em? I missed everything and before I could get home to watch it, everyone was texting/talking about it.

The biggest beef he had was LeBron dropping this bomb in the Cavs lap without the slightest indication beforehand. He called out LeBron for not at least calling Gilbert and making his former team watch with the rest of America to find out where he was headed.

Magic had maybe the greatest center who ever played and four more all star talents on his team in Wilkes, Nixon, Cooper and Haywood when he was a rookie. I'm not even counting Ron Boone who was a star in the ABA.

The Lakers won 47 games the year before Magic arrived. They had talent.
