Shouldn't it be a broken collarbone?

It was subtle, but Hogan had one too. He'd pull out a tiny cash register and ring up a "no sale" before he went into his Hulk-up mode.

A few others: Honky shaking his rear before Shake Rattle N Roll

Santana used to also twirl his arm around before the figure four.

Sgt. Slaughter would point to his arm before he would do the Slaughter Cannon.

Chief Jay Strongbow would go into his dance before making his comeback.

And there are others that I'm sure I can't remember.

Randy Savage pointed to the sky and did a little twirl before heading to the top turnbuckle for his elbow.

I always liked the Honky Tonk Man's booty shake. It wasn't really a telegraph thing, it was more a part of the move. He'd do the little shake as the first part of the swinging neckbreaker.

Beefcake would put his hands together and lean his head against them, as if to say, nighty-night.

Iron Sheik would stand over his opponent, raise his hands in the air, then stomp around him before putting on the camel clutch.

Several guys would also twirl the air before doing a running bulldog (never understood that one).

HBK's telegraph seemed a lot more blatant than most of those. The superkick is an awesome finishing move because it can be used much more easily and in a variety of situations than most finishing moves. The move has an incredible element of surprise. HBK's best uses of the move were in situations like Shelton Benjamin/Rey Mysterio coming off of the top rope.

Standing in the corner and stomping your feet for several seconds is a lot different than a hand motion. You don't need to be a genius to recognize, "hmm, he's been stomping his feet in the corner for several seconds, maybe I should just stay down or duck when I stand up." Also, with a hand motion, it's possible to do the move while the guy isn't looking.

Well, the idea is that the guy is so hurt from HBK's offense, with an elbow off the top, that even if he hears the stomping, he can't do anything about it.

And on a different note, how bizarre is it how Orton hurt himself?

The end of the Orton-Edge match was bizarre. Orton's injury was unfortunate, but I kind of wish they had done something beside that finish. Have Edge slap the Sharpshooter or Figure Four on him, something. The double count-out was pretty unbelievable.

They probably weren't looking for a conclusive ending to that match, maybe a DQ or something like that, since it was the first PPV match of their program. I would think that maybe Edge was going to block the RKO attempt and the match would continue with a different finish.

When a guy gets hurt, they've got to figure something out on the fly and quickly. Hence, the lame double-countout finish.

True, I get that they were thinking on the fly because of the injury, but I don't think the outcome of this first match really mattered that much. If Edge won, I wouldn't have been surprised, and once Orton got injured they should have just went with it.

Iron Sheik also would wipe the sweat off his chest before slapping on the camel clutch.

Also, let's not forget, "NOW! It's time to go to school! Whoo!" before the figure-four.
