2010 Pro Wrestling Thread

  1. Let's hope he doesn't try and climb the corner turnbuckles again. That was kind of embarrasing.

Worse than Batista's work on the mike here? Christ, that was painful to watch. Get this guy a fucking manager.

  3. I haven't seen it yet . . . its on the DVR, but he seemed to have been getting a bit better on the mike.

WTF? COME ON, WWE! This better be because they want to push The Miz to world title status.

"Let's hear it for Batista!" Boooo.

For some reason, that cracked me up.

That, and Lovitz hitting the buzzer as soon as Jillian made her entrance, not even letting her sing one note. That was pretty funny.

That eye thing was ridiculous. And the other thing that sucked was Santino doing that finger thing. He came down the aisle looking all pissed off, I thought he was going to challenge DiBiase. That could have been a hot angle that maybe could have established Santino as a bit more of a serious wrestler. Nope.

Bret as Raw GM is OK, I guess. Although why he had to give up the U.S. title is beyond me (storyline-wise). After all, Vince held the WWF and the ECW titles while owner.

Main event was pretty good. I really liked the spot where Cena had the STF on Edge and Jericho had the Walls on Cena at the same time.

As soon as they announced Orton as in the fatal fourway match, I knew the rest of the lineup.

And the Dibiase thing would have been cool if he had bought the eye and stomped on it just to be a dick.

What an awful night. Nothing interesting happened at all.

    Miz's push has evaporated
Batista has been reduced to buffoonery
Sheamus was handed another match that there was never any doubt he'd win

    *snooze*

Rollercoaster of a Raw. The good:

    1. Hey, Orton might not be hurt so bad.
    2. The main event was excellent, in my opinion.
    3. The U.S. title match had its moments.
    4. Khali singing, no matter how painfully stupid, makes me laugh.

    The bad:
    1. Batista spitting all over the mike.
    2. The whole DiBiase angle was really fucking stupid.
    3. The Miz lost. To R-Fucking-Truth. I'd boo R-Truth live.
    4. The promo for NXT.

Forgive me if it's been discussed elsewhere...
Linda McMahon won the Connecticut GOP endorsement for U.S. Senate at Friday night's state convention, and it looks as if her potential primary challenger, former U.S. Rep. Rob Simmons, is tapping out tomorrow morning (after having trashed Linda and played the morality card against her).
She's pumping $50 mil into the race, and is whacking Democratic candidate Richard Blumenthal hard over the Vietnam service issue. Just don't ask Linda what Vince, a military school grad, did during the war.

Other funny thing about Raw: When DiBiase came out, Lovitz yells out, "Hey, he has a belt. He must be good!"

The very end of the show was lame. Sheamus and Orton come out, and they just stand there? Either show the four of them brawling, or just end the match with Edge celebrating. Silly, cheesy ending.

They ended it that way so they could put that image on the front page of WWE.com.

For a second there, I really thought Cena was going to win that match, meaning Jericho and Edge were bounced from the main event at Fatal Fourway, and that Miz was going to find his way into the title picture.

    Oh, well, one can dream.
