I vehemently disagree. I thought it was a piece of shit. Probably solely because of the parties involved, and I know the follow-up will not pay off, but I thought it was absolutely stupid.

When you do something like this, it has to be somewhat believable. Not seven punk-ass jobbers and Daniel Bryan. Surprising? Yes, and that's something the WWE needs to do. But this bit did nothing for me...I just wanted it to end.

Cole would be a good mastermind behind it, but they would need to explain why Daniel Bryan and Cole have aligned.

    Several screw-ups:

The "emotion" from the crowd would have been better if they hadn't shown the same man and woman over and over. I guess they could only find two people who cared that Cena was getting the shit beaten out of him.

Are all these new guys' finishers the clothesline? I swear, every time it was another's turn to hit Cena, they hit him with a clothesline. How about a stuff-piledriver? Power slam?

The "EMTs" totally fucked up the stretcher spot. The C collar goes on first, not last, and you don't pick up a guy from his neck and place him on the gurney. You put the C collar on, then you lift him/her by the torso.

Probably being nit-picky, but Jesus that skit with Kozlov pissed me off.

Glad I wasn't the only one who hated how the EMTs handled Cena's "injuries." if that was real, he'd have been dead the way they were handling him.

And I just realized it, but Harley is right about the crowd shots. They panned to the same woman about five times during the segment. Why couldn't
    they show some kids' reactions?

I noticed that too about the stretcher. Good thing this wasn't a legit thing.

Reminds me of a Raw from a couple years back where Candice Michelle botched a move off the top rope and landed right on her head. She was laying on her back for a bit, and you could see the ref telling Beth Phoenix to cover her. Candice's legs were under the ropes, so Beth dragged Candice from her shoulders to the middle of the ring.

The ref looked like he was going to have a heart attack when Beth dragged her. I think Candice ended up with a concussion and whiplash, or something like that.

The stretcher botch makes me wonder why the WWE didn't just hire some EMTs for the night. At least here in Rhode Island, every other person I run into seems to be on some volunteer force. Maybe they were worried about them cracking up or smiling or doing something else stupid during the spot.

It's not that fucking hard to put a collar on and stretcher somebody out.

I'm sure the WWE thought it could trust the dumbasses to do it right. I noticed it too, but I was laughing so hard from the "carnage" that it didn't bother me.

    It was strangely funny.

  9. Put me in the crowd of those who really liked what I saw to finish raw. It worked well to play it silent after the announcers were taken out. They beat the hell out of Cena, and he sold it really well. To me, it was a very good start to a storyline, now as long as they continue it and don't immediately start burying some of the guys they just pushed, it will work out. And if Cole plays the dark host role, I'm gonna puke.

  10. I haven't watched since the beginning of the year, but this angle caught my interest, mostly because I want to see Bryan Danielson (I don't like Daniel Bryan) elevated. I will start watching again to see how this develops.

BTW, what's up with Punk wearing a mask?

Head shaved at the hands of Mysterio ... similar to Kurt Angle wearing the wig with ear guards years ago.

  12. Ha! Nice. Wow, I remember he had the mountain man beard going as well. Is that gone too?

Somewhat cool story: I actually saw him at my gym that day before that match with Rey Rey. He was in Chicago for the ROH show.

I was in between sets and was just mindlessly looking around the gym when this man with a big bushy beard caught my attention. He walks past me and we make eye contact and I probably had that look on my face like: Holy shit, that's CM Punk! I don't think anyone else in the gym knew who he was. He's a lot taller in person. He was wearing shirt with the No. 13 on the back with PUNK going across the top. Seemed pretty down to earth, though I didn't bother saying anything to him. His neighborhood, which is a hipster haven, is just west of mine and he apparently is always out and about when he's back in town.
