A few twitter reactions to Danielson getting fired.

Michael Cole gloats, CHIKARA expresses disbelief...

    - Michael Cole has claimed responsibility for Daniel Bryan's firing on Twitter:

    Yes. I fired Daniel Bryan.

    - CHIKARA also reacted to Bryan's firing on Twitter:

Dear WWE, You are dumb. Signed, CHIKARA

Wade Keller makes a good point: WWE will let a lot of simulated violence go, but overt choking in the post-Benoit era is a bridge too far. If in fact this is for reals. But it's got the internet talking, so either way, it's generating interest for Monday.

  3. Has anyone wondered how much Linda McMahon's run for the senate has to do with WWE's decision to remain decidedly PG? I'm sure there's a faction within the company that would love to dial things up, but I'd guess that doing so would give McMahon's opponents a golden opportunity to smear her with campaign ads.

Partly curious to see how things fare tonight, but I don't have much confidence that this story line will live up to the potential it showed last week.

I would think that there is no shortage of smutty WWE material that her opponents could use againt her. (Mae Young/Hand, Katie Vick, Godfather & Ho's, Owen Hart's death (i.e. workplace safety issues), DX antics etc.) They don't really need anything from today.

I had found a NY Times interview a while back (Can't remember if I posted it here) primarily on the guest host concept, but they also touched upon the PG stuff. Trips was interviewed and basically said he wouldn't have let his kids watch the Attitude Era stuff, and that now he's a parent, he's glad for the PG stuff. Ironic, coming from a guy that pointed to his crotch like crazy for years.

As for tonight, I'm rooting for the entire arena to chant, "We want Bryan!" for the whole show.

Did anyone see TNA's PPV last night? Holy shit.

Worst booking and matches I've seen in a looonngg time.

When your TNA Heavyweight Championship match lasts for less than 10 minutes. You know something's up.

  6. When Vince Russo has control, what else would you expect?

The only thing Russo, Bischoff and Hogan are succeeding in is lowering the price it will take the McMahons to buy them within the next 12-18 months. At this point, Vince will be able to pull out chump change to finally bust a cap on that atrocious outfit.

    Ditto.

On another note...could you imagine some random person driving down the street and seeing a group of men running down the sidewalk in bikini underwear?

I dunno. They needed all the stars to come to the rescue, and they were considered a big enough threat that Edge and Sheamus helped out faces to take them out. Good chance we'll see an NXT rebuttal in short order, possibly in the next 45 minutes.

Also, note that Barrett said that "you'll never see Daniel Bryan around here again" which certainly keeps the door open for his return as Bryan Danielson.

OK, so on a night when the locker room stood up to NXT, no one was able to get from the ramp to the backstage area to help out Hart?

Ha, I know, right? I am intrigued where they go with this angle, though.
