That, to me, is one of the big mistakes that the WWE makes. Forcing everyone to conform to a certain style. Those late-90s WCW cruiserweight matches were awesome. Too bad the WWE doesn't devote some extra time to matches like that.

For me, my change the channel guy is R-Truth. He never strikes me as a major force, and I'm tired of his little kiddie "What's up?" schtick.

Spot on, Baron. Though typically a lot shorter (because they simply have more), I actually enjoy watching TNA matches more because of the different styles. You're not getting the same match every week. When they let the guys go longer, they usually deliver (i.e. Angle/Anderson at Lockdown. Hell of an F-ing match).

Example 1b for me, quickly making his way up to 1a now that he's on Raw.

    What a stupid fucking gimmick.

Thirded. I'd wish they'd bring back chairshots to the head just for him.

When Bill Simmons wrote his Wrestlemania diary, he summed up R-Truth's entrance like this (paraphrasing here) :

Rwinannn, Blablinna, blina, shushina, wanwina, Zuzinna, pwinna, What's Up?"

I thought Simmons summed that up beautifully. Besides 'What's Up', I don't understand a word Truth says.

I know he was a former two-time NWA World champion in the early days of TNA, but now, he's just kiddie fodder, even with his recent U.S. title win. I just don't take him seriously. He would have fit in fine in the late 80s WWF, but now, I'm rooting for an ECW Philly crowd to boo his schtick out of the building.

R-Truth's finisher just annoys me so hard. Tito Santana's flying forearm was more devastating.

    Toni Adams, RIP:

    http://www.f4wonline.com/content/view/13929/

She was the second wife of the late Gentleman Chris Adams. In 1990 USWA, she and Chris had one of the best feuds ever with Chris' first ex-wife Jeannie (later to be known as Lady Blossom in WCW), and a young protege of Chris' wrestling school. Fella by the name of Steve Austin.

When you think about that program now, you realize how innovative it was. To have a wrestler's legitimate ex-wife come out with the wrestler's protege, and then to have your current wife help you in the feud, was really something back then.

Jeannie and Steve later married, had kids, and divorced. Toni divorced Chris after the feud petered out.

But it is more devastating than the Playmaker...?

The Playmaker has a ridiculous setup/execution, but it seems like it would hurt enough...

  10. WWE's lame ass effort to draw African-Americans results in him. I'm African-American and flip the channel when I hear his music.

Funny though: When using the nephews' PS3 to play Smackdown vs. Raw with them, I used R-Truth's intro with The Great Khali. Hi-fuckin-larious to watch.

I'm guessing that Hornswoggle is the obvious "Change the Channel" for everyone since I haven't seen a mention of him.

    Late on the topic:

I loved seeing Ricky the Dragon Steamboat and Arn Anderson again. Two of my all-time favorites and two guys with great in-ring, mic and selling skills that are completely lost in today's genre.

I hated, hated, hated the stupid "Vince McMahon will let someone get their DVD over, but only if he can humiliate them afterward."

I am so sick of the smug son of a bitch that he's joining the Hulk Hogan/Dusty Rhodes/Jeff Jarrett/Eric Bichoff realm of guys I can't stand to see.

I loved the Cruiserweight division back in WCW. Guys like Juventud, Jericho, Mysterio, Malenko, Kidman, Ultimo Dragon and many more. They put on such a great show, and I agree Baron, Vince dropped the ball on this one.

But I think we all know that Vince likes bigger guys which is one of the reasons why they don't have that division.

Back in WCW, Mysterio was one of my favorites to watch but now I can't stand him. He's so annoying and boring to watch.
