    The GM is Austin?

No. I'm sure they aren't going to make it that obvious.

Is it just me, or have all of Cena's references over the past couple of weeks been REALLY dated? Especially considering the average age of his typical fan.

I'm wondering if my... evaluation copy... of this week's Raw is off. There is no commentary at all, and I'm about 30 minutes in. It's actually kind of nice - Just promos and arena noise. It seems like they didn't turn the audio feed back on after shutting it off in the first part of the show, when Nexus stormed the ring.

I barely got to see any of the show, with holiday celebrations going on. Saw the end, and it was pretty good, although this 'Shadow GM' is annoying as hell. You can even hear the crowd groan when you hear the e-mail computer sound.

I actually like the "mystery GM" for the exact reason you stated. It's annoying. Now, I don't think they should make it go on for much longer, but it's been effective so far.

I presume the Austin references are intentionally misleading. I'd be willing to be next week we'll get some match announcement that ends "if you smell what the Raw GM is cooking."

As for Gabriel's extended pause before he hits his splash -- I'm guessing that he's trying to make it feel more like a heel move, like he's coldly calculating his prey before he leaps. Highspots are great ... if you're a face. As a heel, it's hard to generate the right kind of heat using them, because fans instinctively cheer exciting moves that involve a lot of air. Savage's elbow and Kamala's splash were the only moves I can recall being done by heels that got heel reactions, and that was a different era, because by the 90's, we were already cheering Great Muta's moonsault, even though we booed him the rest of the match.

This is exactly my thought. I'm they could use "Ooooooo yeah!" and "Dig it!" too to throw people of track.

I just don't think it's going to be that obvious, using Austin catchphrases. Especially with this storyline.

Watching the end of the show last night had me thinking how great it would be if Cena were actually the GM and the mastermind behind this whole thing. However, I really don't think they have anybody who could take over the mega-face role. Unless, Triple H decided to come back and I don't think even he could be a proper replacement for Cena.

All I saw was the awful tag match with Regal and Khalil. Terrible....
