I've always thought that MVP had a lot of potential to be a main eventer as an arrogant heel. As a babyface, he really doesn't stand out.

He doesn't really have a good finishing move. The Ball'in move is OK, but the Drive-By takes too long to set up and doesn't really look that devastating.

(Then again, the Rock got over a glorified elbow drop because he threw his pad into the crowd.)

Cena is the same way with his five-knuckle whatever-the-hell-it's-called-now move. And so did Austin with his running elbow (or was it knee?) drop that he did.

And Kofi has that double-leg drop move.

I don't mind the three of them (Kofi, MVP, Cena) each having similiar moves off the ropes. But MVP needs a better finish. Kofi's Trouble in Paradise kick has started to grow on me, because he can pull it off at any moment in the match.

They really need to post a mortatorium on "wacky moves off the ropes". Among those I remember since the Austin era:

The People's Elbow -- The Rock
The Worm -- Scotty II Hotty
Double Middle Finger Elbowdrop -- Steve Austin
Getting Jiggy Wit It Kneedrop -- Road Dogg
Boom Boom Boom double legdrop -- Kofi Kingston
    Ballin' elbowdrop -- MVP
    U Can't C Me fistdrop -- John Cena

And I bet there's been others that I can't remember (I guess technically it started with Hogan's legdrop)

Hogan's legdrop made sense in that he would be moving off the ropes to generate more power to finish off his opponent. Bruiser Brody did the same.

The others end up stopping their momentum to do their little dance, then drop their elbow/knee/fist/whatever.

And of course, Buddy Landell was doing a variation of the People's Elbow back in the 80's.

A couple months ago, Jericho had some matches with Cena where he let Cena do five-knuckle shuffle bit, then grabbed him for an inside cradle before Cena dropped the fist. Jericho had other matches with guys with slow-developing moves where he did the same type thing.
I'd love to see some of the more veteran guys, like Orton, do the same thing once in a while. They've fought Cena dozens of times, they know it's coming, so why lay there and take it? Counter it once in a while and maybe even steal a win out of it. It'd be a great finish for a Raw match.

Because you're supposed to think that the guy lying down has been stunned enough (like Cena's spinning side slam) that he can't get up in time to block the Five-Knuckle Shuffle.

I would have liked to have seen HBK do his nip-up when Cena tried his 5KS and give him the Sweet Chin Music. That would have been cool.

John Cena: the top requested celebrity by Make a Wish. Go figure.

Not really a surprise. Hogan was Make a Wish's top requested celeb for a long time.

One reason why I'm sure ($$$$ being the other) that Cena ain't turning heel anytime soon.

I'm guessing that WWE will keep the Cena-heel turn in their back pocket for a long time. But, when it does happen, I think it'll be a cash cow for a while, since half of any given crowd normally hates him now anyway.
