Poor DiBiase, he must really be regretting whatever he did to have Maryse hanging all over him every week :)

I agree with this, which is why I also was one of the two to immediately post against it. Even if you're going to have Cena rebel against Nexus, then it's more in his character to attack all five of them at the start of the show, instead of doing the Sid Justice routine of refusing to tag in.

I'm actually OK with the Cena build tonight ... you knew he was going to be the reluctant member.

I'm glad he came out ot the Nexus theme (still love that song) just now. Just wish they would make him wear the shirt as well (probably too much merch to pedal for him to do that).

She's so hot that it makes me wonder if you eventually have to turn her face, like Trish Stratus. I think people want to cheer for the hot chick. With her being Ted Jr.'s valet, it would be pretty easy for the WWE to pull the trigger at some point. (By the way, is she injured or something? She was actually decent in the ring, so it seems odd that they just have her as a manager now.)

They might build to that moment, rather than have him just show up in a Nexus shirt. Which are pretty stupid shirts, when you think about them. Would YOU want a big-assed black and yellow N on your chest in a non-wrestling context? Not that most wrestling t-shirts don't fall prey to that anyway, but this one's really bad.

But that doesn't really build up to the breakup we all know is coming (even if you think Cena's ready for a heel turn, having him be another thug corporal in Nexus wouldn't be the way to do it, and if he takes over Nexus, it forces Barrett to the sidelines or makes him face way too soon). He's 24 hours removed from this stinging loss. "This sucks but I'll do my job", while an admirable attitude to take in the real world, is shit for the purpose of creating tension.

He got his brief flash of revenge (and has apparently taken Michael Tarver out of the group, which I think we can all agree is for the best), the heelish GM smacks his hand with the ruler, and now Cena's doing the reluctant assistant thing in the battle royale. Which goes back to "hey, let the angle develop past the first five minutes before passing judgment".

I actually was expecting Cena to give the FU to Barrett, THEN eliminate himself. Would've allowed him to show his frustration a bit, yet still abide by the GM's ruling.

OK, that last part with Orton coming out and just standing there with the belt sucked. If he had snuck from behind and RKOd Barrett, I would have liked that.

Either that, or he could have come in, RKOd both Barrett and Cena, and thrown Barrett over, leaving Cena the winner (even if he's not in the battle royal, it's happened before that guys not in it eliminate guys that are).

I'm also fine with how they're doing the Cena build. He's not just going to become a heel with this. For him to turn heel, it's got to come out of nowhere to be a huge payoff. They'll probably have a few weeks where Nexus beats up some guys, then Barrett orders Cena to give the victim an FU/Attitude Adjustment. Cena gets all reluctant, but he does it anyways.

I wish they'd keep Tarver, though. He seems pretty good on the mic, unlike Otunga, who seems totally useless. There's that little bit of tension also between Barrett and Otunga, which could eventually mean Cena leads Nexus, which, unless it was an actual heel turn, would suck.

I'm thinking Orton buys into this stand up for WWE thing and puts his own allegiance on the line...and for at least the in-between one more pay-per-view, you have Cena and Orton in Nexus, at which point the two work together to turn the tables two pay-per-views from now.

I don't know, I think they could use this angle to turn Cena heel in a BIG way.

You get to the Pay Per View, Cena helps Barrett win the title. He is "forced" to stay in the Nexus for a month or two, all the while seeming less and less reluctant when instructed to do Barrett's bidding.

Eventually, you set up a match where Cena's freedom is on the line. Say Orton vs. Barrett for the title. If Orton wins, he gets the belt and Cena's free. Something like that.

At that match, Orton's got the chance to win and Cena costs him, true heel turn.

He then explains that he never felt like he belonged in the WWE. Even when he was his most popular, people booed him, said he couldn't wrestle, e.t.c.

He then joins Nexus for real, by choice, and boom, you have the most hated heel in the company instantly. :)

I liked the possible foreshadowing of internal Nexus strife with Otunga's Freudian slip of Cena possibly helping others in the group get title shots should Barrett fail. Later, Cena tossed Otunga from the battle royal and -- at least from what I could tell reading lips -- essentially told Barrett that Otunga couldn't be trusted.

Agreed. It seems like we're going to get Cena smirking and doing what he's told while quietly facilitating Nexus tearing itself apart, which isn't bad.
