Do they still tape two weeks at a time? Or maybe they just did the title change in front of the mark fans before the regular show. Or maybe Meltzer is full of it, heh. A title change would make no god damn sense, given what happened at Bound For Glory. (Not that TNA ever necessarily makes sense.)

From what I've seen lately, it doesn't look like TNA tapes two shows a week anymore.

OK, Wade Barrett did an awesome job in that last segment.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

Barrett isn't going to be a star. Barrett IS a star.

I hate Super Cena, but I really hope the give Barrett the title at Bragging Rights. Him taunting Cena with the title could put him through the roof as an asshole heel.

I LOVE this angle. LOVE IT.

For my money, this is the best thing they've done in quite some time, simply because it elevates Barrett to immediate No. 1 heel status and you can almost feel the heat between the two. It's great.

I guess my only complaint though is that they should make Cena come out to the Nexus theme music and wear the Nexus merch. I get why that's not happening but it'd be so much more demoralizing for Super Cena fans to have to see that.

As for the rest of the show, loved seeing Punk brought over to Raw. I feel like they really screwed the pooch by breaking up the SES so soon. It took a lot of the steam out of Punk's character. Looking forward to seeing where they go from here.

Apart from that, the Dibiase-Goldust angle is just terrible, R-Truth's theme song is atrocious and that finishing move in the Morrison-Kidd match was awesome.

BTW, the wife and I started thinking about the Slammys. They've got to be coming up soon, right?

Anyhoo, right now what do you guys have as the top-five contenders for the WWE's match of the year? I was racking my brain on this and couldn't really think of many potential winners here. By and large, there really haven't been any year-defining bouts yet.

If I had to make a list right now, I'd put Sheamus-Orton at the HITC up there, put the Taker-Michaels match up there if for nothing more than the storyline and, apart from that, I've got nothing. I'm sure I'm missing a bunch of good bouts but nothing really stands out to me.

    Thoughts?

I'm a mark, but you've got to have something with Jericho in there, no? Just any of his matches that went 20 minutes, throw one on there. And if you want to get some more heat with Michael Cole, put a Daniel Bryan-Miz match there.

True, but it's got a beat and Eve Torres can dance to it.

My thoughts exactly. WTF is Cena still coming out in his shirts and theme music? Vince, the shirts will sell anyway.

Patience, people. It could be that the shirt is a future point of contention -- maybe next week at the start of Raw, Barrett tells Cena that he has to wear the shirt, and after a show of building it, he comes out in the main event wearing it. You don't want to just trot him out there in Nexus black and yellow matter-of-factly. It'll mean more if he's badgered and threatened into it and he wears it with the utmost of begrudgment. Look how they stretched out the armband exchange.

I like the Morrison move, but I hate it too. It's cool looking but it's also the most unlikely move in wrestling, maybe even more so than Petey Williams' Canadian Destroyer flipping piledriver. Not that most moves don't require cooperation, but this is too much.

Excellent point. The shirt is one of the big pieces of Cena's identity remaining. Barrett will get major heel heat when he finally has Cena take it off and put on a Nexus shirt.

As for Morrison's move, it's a tremendous finisher. One of the most original ones to come down the pike in a long time. Too bad there's probably about six guys in the entire WWE with the athleticism to pull it off with Morrison. I don't see him trying that with Big Show or Sheamus.
