Jesus. Why is Hornswoggle still contracted by the WWE? Until just a minute or so ago, I thought he had been let go months ago.

Yeah, tonight's show, from what I saw between Yanks/Rangers and MNF, did suck ass.

Especially the entire 10 minute segment devoted to how cool the WWE is, with the PG rating symbol thrown in randomly. Um, sorry. It's nice and all now, but I'm still remember Sexual Chocolate, Mae Young giving birth to a hand, Puppies, The Ho Train, Sable wearing nothing but handprints, Pimpin' Ain't Easy, Katie Vick and a lot more.

Besides that, I would give a shit about Raw vs. Smackdown if THE DAMN WRESTLERS WOULDN'T KEEP SWITCHING BRANDS WEEK AFTER WEEK!

And how can Teddy Long make a battle royal on Raw? Shouldn't it be the stupid computer?

I thought it would have been cool for Cena to give Orton the Attitude Adjustment on Barrett's orders (like I predicted here before). But I couldn't fathom why Barrett told him to stop. Heck, it would have been good heat if Barrett ordered the STF on Orton.

I will admit, I liked the "We Want Bret" chants during the battle royal. Even the Calgary fans weren't too pleased with the proceedings.

Horrible show. I feel bad for the folks in Calgary.

It would have been one thing if they simply plugged the Stand Up WWE bullshit.

But they also were plugging The Big Show's freaking movie.

I gave up about an hour in to watch football. Ironically enough, by then, most of the Jaguars fans had already left.

Confession: I kind of like the looks of The Big Show's movie so far. It looks like it could be amusing.

Eh, this is what happens when you have three PPVs in a five-week period.

Instead of being able to develop the whole brand warfare angle, you're forced to condense it into one episode of Raw because no one watched SD and the show sucks balls.

I loved the Barrett-Cena angle but, I swear, the more I see of Nexus, the more I think everyone in that group but Barrett is useless.

Looking forward to the PPV. Want to see what they do with the whole Barrett vs. Orton thing.

I'm watching the segment on how "cool" the WWE is right now on the West Coast. All I got out of it? Seeing Maria and remembering how much I miss her. :D

  7. I saw the beginning of the game. There were plenty of fans dressed up as empty seats then as well.

The way I see it, it plays out one of two ways:
    1) Cena is forced to help Barrett, takes out Orton, and Barrett wins the title. Cena continues to be Barrett's bitch for a while longer.
    2) Cena is forced to help Barrett, takes a swing at Orton but misses and clocks Barrett. This ends up costing Barrett the title and puts Cena's WWE future in jeopardy as all the little kiddies cry until Raw hits the air on Monday.

There's a couple different ways they can go with either outcome, so I'm not sure which way it'll go.
I'm hoping for the first one, since it would continue to elevate Barrett as a major asshole heel. It'd be nice if they just let this one simmer for a while. There's still a lot of things they can do to really push Cena down (which is elevating both guys) and set up the inevitable blow-off match where Super Cena takes out all members of the Nexus -- past, present and future, as well as the Divas from NXT Season 3 for the sheer hell of it -- with a broken leg and one arm tied behind his back.

The second could set up a three-way match between Barrett, Cena and Orton at Survivor Series. Barrett orders Cena to help him, turning it into a handicap match and proving his allegiance to Nexus. Then Barrett gets taken out during the three-way match and Cena ends up winning the title.
The next night on Raw, Barrett orders Cena to pull the Fingerpoke of Doom maneuver. Cena refuses, saying he's got some pull now that he's got the belt, and tells Barrett to earn it. That gives Cena back his freedom, allows Barrett to remain a stalking heel, and sets up the big blow-off match at the next PPV.
This isn't a bad way to go, either. It lets the feud continue for a couple of months, allows Orton to keep the title a while longer and builds the anticipation for Cena-Barrett. It also seems like a more logical extension of the feud, even if it is incredibly predictable.

  9. Maybe it's just the cynic in me, but I have the feeling that WWE will ruin Barrett's character as well, considering they are doing their best to ruin the best thing they have going today, which is Orton.

<<soapbox moment>> Orton starts out with little going for him, builds up this incredible heat as the guy everyone loves to hate, legitimately. Then, get gains a fan following for being the guy everyone loves to hate, legitimately, in a stone cold/against the establishment kind of way, because they have grown to tire of Cena, and Orton capitalizes from that. So we get this badass guy who people love because they hate him. Now, we get this goofy smile, playing to the crowd in the corner, hitting an RKO on 12 guys in 15 seconds, super strength cena character, stealing any bit of heat they had with him. And they do all of this within a year. Nice job, gang.

Not to mention the exaggerated pounding of the canvas (hey, I'm sure that helps in leading to your next shoulder injury) and Cole telling us "he's hearing the voices inside his head" bit.

Barrett is the best thing going right now in the WWE. Not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing, but at least I look forward to hearing him on the mic every week.

The other issue I had with last night. Cena being all unhappy about being ordered by Barrett to FU Orton. It's not like Cena and Orton don't have a history and even earlier on, Cena threatened to break Orton's leg.

It would have been better if they would have had a babyface that's never had an issue with Cena. Like R-Truth, who they have been showing trying to give Cena some advice. That would have made sense for Cena to be upset about hurting his friend.

Yeah, I hate when they do that. As I've said earlier, The Rock was the same way, but the fear is that fans will eventually grow tired of cheering a guy who doesn't care about them, so they try to make them more of a babyface.

You better get used to Daniel Bryan dancing. Rumors are that the WWE want to turn Bryan into a Ladies Man.

I really hope it doesn't happen. I loved the way they were pushing Daniel before the whole firing. I wish they just gave him the "Chris Benoit" gimmick. Doesn't talk much on the microphone, just goes in the ring takes care of business, puts on a great show for the fans and make wrestlers tap out.
